MANILA -- Pokémon trainers, get ready for a brand new challenge.

The franchise's newest game, Pokémon Unite, was announced this Wednesday, and it's very similar to a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena), such as League of Legends or DOTA 2.

Fans can check out more of the gameplay, which, much like other MOBAs, involves two teams of five battling each other to complete objectives, in the Pokémon Presents stream below:

It is being billed as the first strategic team-based Pokemon battle game, and will be available for free on both the Nintendo Switch and mobile, with cross-play for multiplayer.

There's currently no release date for Pokemon Unite.
