<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17795848545911.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>The second edition of FASHIONPhilippines Milan will return in 2026, expanding efforts to bring more Filipino fashion brands to the international market through a refined business and mentorship program tied to Milan Fashion Week.The initiative is led by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan, the Philippine Fashion Coalition and LIT Fashion Consultancy.Organizers said the 2026 edition builds on lessons from the program’s inaugural run in 2025, with stronger emphasis on business readiness, global market access and long-term growth for participating brands.“Our experience from the inaugural run affirmed the global potential of Filipino fashion, while highlighting the need to further strengthen our brands’ readiness to compete internationally,” CITEM executive director Leah Pulido Ocampo said in a statement.The updated program will include specialized sessions on pricing architecture, line sheet development, wholesale strategies, market identification and buyer engagement.According to Jackie C. Aquino, the first edition highlighted the importance of treating fashion not only as a creative field but also as a business industry capable of scaling globally.LIT Fashion Consultancy’s Tetta Ortiz-Matera said Filipino brands must adapt to international business practices, including pricing structures, collection planning and delivery timelines.Organizers added that the strengthened sales component now includes international showroom expertise and direct efforts to connect brands with global buyers and distribution channels.Following the 2025 edition, one participating Filipino label secured representation with a Paris-based showroom, which organizers described as a significant milestone for Philippine fashion in the global market.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17795852530232-Composite straight 4.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>Several Filipino designers who joined the inaugural run shared how the program helped sharpen both their creative and business strategies.Designer Adam Pereyra described the experience as “calibration,” saying it refined his understanding of branding, material integrity and communication for international audiences.Ched Dalogaog of Ched Studio said the program provided insights into balancing creativity with commercial discipline, while Steffi Cua of Idyllic Summers shares said it pushed the brand to strengthen its operational and retail strategies.Tessa Nepomuceno of CALLI said mentorship from the program helped the brand better position its products for European buyers while maintaining Filipino craftsmanship and identity.Meanwhile, Joseph Bagasao said the initiative serves as a bridge between local fashion practice and the international market by giving Filipino brands greater access and industry context.The 2026 edition will culminate in a three-day curated exhibition in Milan from Septmber 22 to 24, 2026, coinciding with Milan Fashion Week.The showcase will feature returning brands from the inaugural batch as well as newly selected participants, with organizers aiming to strengthen the Philippines’ position as a source of globally competitive fashion, craftsmanship and textile innovation.
