<p>Nilinaw ng isang senador na hindi nila layong siraan ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa imbestigasyon nito sa paglabas-masok ng isang inmate mula sa kaniyang detention cell.</p><p>Ayon kay Sen. Francis Tolentino, layon ng isinasagawang imbestigasyon na tulungan ang NBI na &quot;makuha muli ang respeto&quot; ng publiko sa naturang ahensiya. </p><p>Ito&#x27;y matapos pumutok ang isyung kinasangkutan ni Jose Adrian De Vera o Jad Dera at ilang tauhan ng NBI kung saan nakatanggap umano ng iba&#x27;t ibang pribilehiyo ang inmate tulad ng paglabas-masok sa detention cell.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/06/22/23/raps-filed-vs-dera-6-nbi-security-personnel-for-leaving-detention-facility">Raps filed vs Dera, 6 NBI security personnel for sneaking out of detention facility</a></li></ul><p>&quot;Manunumbalik lang [ang respeto ng publiko] &#x27;pag ang sistema natin sa loob ay tama. Hindi tayo darating sa ganitong yugto na nagtuturuan na,&quot; ani Tolentino.</p><p>Kabilang rin umano sa mga pag-aaralan ng Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights ang pagbabalangkas ng batas na sisiguro sa maayos na pagpapatakbo ng kulungan ng NBI.</p><p>&quot;Kabilang sa pinag-aaralan ng komiteng ito ay makabalangkas ng bagong batas kung saan &#x27;yung detention functions ng [NBI] ay pwedeng hawakan ng iba nang sa ganon ay magkaroon ng checks and balances na hindi &#x27;yung nasa sariling bakuran na lang,” ayon kay Tolentino.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/04/23/court-oks-transfer-of-jad-dera-out-of-nbi-detention-center">Court OKs transfer of alleged drug runner Jad Dera out of NBI detention center</a></li></ul><p>Posible rin umanong tingnan ang pagtaas ng pondo sa NBI para makapagdagdag din ng mga tauhang magbabantay sa detention facility.</p><p>Kasabay nito, nais ding ipasiguro ni Tolentino na maisumite ang lahat ng medical records at iba pang detalye ng paulit-ulit na paglabas ni Dera sa kulungan ng NBI.</p><p>Nagpaalala naman ang senador na dapat ay magsilbing babala ang nangyaring ito sa NBI. Dapat din aniyang hindi na maulit ito at mapanatili na ang tiwala ng publiko sa ahensiya.</p><p>“This investigation should serve as a warning that the NBI should try to maintain its prestige as the number one investigating agency in the country respected by the international community.
