Ngayon po may habagat pa rin pero napakahina na,&quot; PAGASA weather forecaster Nikos Peñaranda told DZMM.</p><p>He also said the northeast monsoon is expected to start by October.</p><p>Habagat is still expected to bring scattered rains in Visayas and southern parts of Mindanao until the monsoon changes.</p><p>Peñarada said certain parts of extreme northern Luzon may start to experience cooler weather due to the typhoons, but this is not yet because of the northeast monsoon.</p><p>&quot;Sa extreme northern Luzon, nakakahila po &#x27;yung bagyo ng may kalamigan na hangin, dahil nga doon sa lokasyon niya. Hindi pa po ito &#x27;yung amihan dahil hindi pa po dumidiretso doon sa ibang parte ng Pilipinas at Indonesia,&quot; he said.</p><p>The northeast monsoon, locally known as &quot;amihan,&quot; is usually associated with the cool weather during the holiday season.</p><p>Meanwhile, typhoon Paeng, although still inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), is still not expected to have any direct effect.</p><p>&quot;Napakaliit na ng tsansa na ito po ay makaapekto sa Batanes,&quot; Peñaranda said.</p><p>As of 3 p.m., Paeng was last seen 755 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hours with gusts of up to 195 kph.</p><p>The typhoon is moving slowly towards the southern part of Japan and is expected to leave PAR Saturday morning.</p>
