The Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) Toronto recently held a fundraising dinner for ABS-CBN Foundation International’s (AFI) Bantay Bata program (Child Watch).  On hand to present the donation amount of Can$6,000 is special guest Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray. ABS-CBN Canada Country Manager Kerwin Du received the donation on behalf of AFI.  With Du are ABS-CBN Canada Regional Marketing Head Rosary Escano and Ad Sales Account Executive for Canada Doris Mutuc, shown here with PIDC officers. at a Community and Media Reception on March 27 in LA City Hall


BA News Correspondent Steve Angeles (back row, 2nd from right) is shown in photo with the Center for Asian Americans United for Self-Empowerment (CAUSE) Leadership Network members.  On March 27, Pacific, the Leadership Network will be introduced before the media and community at a reception at the Tom Bradley Tower of Los Angeles City Hall. The CAUSE Leadership Network is an invitation-only, membership program for next generation leaders to channel skills, expertise, and passion for cross-sector advancement and the empowerment of APA (Asian Pacific American) communities. ABS-CBN TFC supports reopening of Philippine Consulate General in Houston
The Philippine Consulate General in Houston had a grand reopening celebration recently after it closed 25 years ago.  ABS-CBN TFC was represented at the event by US-Central Territory Account Sales Head (TASH) Joy Espinosa, TFC dealer Dina Javier and Houston-based Filipina singer Sheryn Regis who sang the U.S. national anthem.  About 200,000 Filipinos are in need of consular services in Greater Houston.  Guest of Honor, Philippine Ambassador to the U.S. Jose Manuel “Babe” Romualdez, unveiled the Philippine Coat of Arms with newly appointed Philippine Consul General Jerril G. Santos who will lead the team in Houston. Speakers included Santos, the associate regional director of the U.S. Department of State's Office of Foreign Missions Robert Hopkins as well as the consul general of Panama, Juan B. Sosa. Also in attendance are consul general of Los Angeles, Adel Cruz; consul general of Chicago, Gina Jamoralin; consul general of New York, Claro Cristobal; consul general of Hawaii, Joselito Alegado Jimeno; consul general of San Francisco, Henry Bensurto, Jr.; consul general of Louisiana, Roberto Romero; and the honorary consul general of Texas, Ethel Mercado.  (LEFT PHOTO, from left, Javier, Espinosa, ConGen Santos of Houston, a guest and Ambassador Romualdez.
