2019 PVL Reinforced Conference begins on May 26
Volleyball superstars led by Alyssa Valdez, Michele Gumabao, Myla Pablo, Stephanie Mercardo, and Jovelyn Gonzaga gave their fans more than they asked for as they signed autographs, took selfies, and played games with them in yesterday’s (April 25) S+A Volleyball Grand Fans Day at the TriNoma Activity Center.
The four were joined by other notable players from the Creamline Cool Smashers, PetroGazz Angels, BaliPure Purest Water Defenders, BanKo Perlas Spikers, and new teams Motolite and Pacifictown Army Lady Troopers who are suiting up in the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference that starts on ABS-CBN S+A, LIGA, and iWant Sports on May 26.
Hundreds of fans registered via ktx.abs-cbn.com for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and greet their volleyball idols, while others even got to showcase their dancing and “hugot” skills with their favorite athletes.
Dzi Gervacio, Mae Tajima, and Cherry Nunag, for instance, judged the Swag Showdown, while Jema Galanza and a fan blew the competition away in the “Dalagang Pilipina” challenge, which pitted her against Fhem Emnas, Jeanette Panaga, Risa Sato, and Jia Morado.
The PVL stars also got to live out their supermodel dreams with Chalk Magazine glamming them up with the latest “athleisure” fashion. Putting aside their jerseys, knee pads, and sneakers for a moment were Valdez and Pau Soriano from Creamline, Pablo and Jellie Tempiatura from Motolite, Nunag ang Cai Baloaloa from PetroGazz, Gervacio and Tajima from BanKo Perlas, Jeannie De Los Reyes and Jem Nicole Gutierrez from Pacifictown Army, and Katrina Racelias and Satriani Espiritu from BaliPure.
Adding more fun to the event were a special segment featuring MYX VJs Samm and Sunny with finalists of the MYX VJ Search 2019, and a mini-concert featuring Star Music artists Hashtag Rayt and Janella Salvador, along with Kyler from Tarsier Records, while NCAA cheerleading champions Arellano U Chiefsquad opened the program with a scintillating dance number befitting of their title.
The S+A Volleyball Grand Fans Day also saw the welcome of the Pacific Town-Army Lady Troopers and Motolite Team to the fold as two of the five teams trying to dethrone 2018 PVL Reinforced Conference champions Creamline Cool Smashers in the season-opening tournament. The six squads will be parading international playersonce more like Creamline’s Kutikka Kaewpin, PetroGazz’s Janisa Johnson and Wilma Salas, and Pacific Town-Army’s Thai duo of Kannika Tipachot and Sutadta Chuewulim.
