Newest season of "The Voice Kids" hits high ratings, blind auditions trend worldwide

Viewers anticipated and tuned in to the return of “The Voice Kids” as its original superstar coaches spinned their red chairs once again for astonishing young artists in its newest season.

Viewers anticipated and tuned in to the return of “The Voice Kids” as its original superstar coaches spinned their red chairs once again for astonishing young artists in its fourth and newest season that debuted last weekend.

Last Saturday (August 3), the singing-talent reality program kicked off its blind auditions with Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Lea Salonga that recorded a national TV rating of 34.8%, more than double than that of “Starstruck’s” 15.3%, according to data from Kantar Media.

Viewers once again watched young artists from across the country woo the coaches as it earned a national TV rating of 35.5% last Sunday (August 4), once again beating its rival program’s 13.7%.

Like the previous editions of “The Voice,” the newest season also attracted viewers and fans online as it recorded thousands of concurrent views during its airing on YouTube and Facebook. Netizens were also abuzz about the pilot episode that the hashtags #VoiceKidsS4 and #TVKisBACK trended worldwide on Twitter, where coaches Lea, Bamboo, and Sarah and artists who joined the blind auditions were also heavily talked about.

Among the first batch of auditionees, coach Sarah recruited three into her team – the little rocker Ramjean, the jolly kid Amierr, and the three-chair turner Vanjoss.

Coach Bamboo, on the other hand, enlisted two female power belters Tiffany and Lovelyn, the first members of Kamp Kawayan.

The season’s first three-chair turner Alex, an aspiring theater actress, went to FamiLea to join her idol coach Lea.

In this new season, the three coaches can turn around for as many artists as they want. A new feature called “steal deals” will also be introduced in the next rounds of the competition.

Every week, heartwarming stories and world-class talents will be showcased by Filipino kids in “The Voice Kids,” hosted by Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo.
