"Iba Yan" holds webinar for people suffering from depression

February 19, 2021 AT 08:46 PM

Filipinos experiencing mental disorders can take comfort in the help that "Iba Yan" will bring them through a support training webinar which will be held after the program airs this Sunday (February 21).

Titled "May Kasama Ka," it will feature showbiz personalities and mental health advocates, TJ Manotoc, Antoinette Taus, and Agot Isidro, and  Bianca Gonzalez, who will host the event.

Representatives from the Department of Health and Philippine Mental Health are also attending the special webinar to further promote mental health awareness.

But before the webinar, viewers should tune in to the episode as it features stories of Filipinos who overcame mental disorders. One of them is Ricky Ducas, the founder of the Philippine Mental Health Association  Anxiety and Depression Support Group, whose aim is to support teenagers who need help from mental health professionals. His group has 3,700 members and five volunteer professors.

Ducas was diagnosed with Panic-Anxiety Disorder after experiencing traumas in life. But as he got better, he was able to give a talk, where a child handed him a notebook full of suicidal notes. It was his turning point to create a support group.

Viewers can also learn from the stories of Janice Himmoldang, a single mother who has a child with special needs, and Nathan Santos, an events host, magician, and parrot trainer who was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type II after his mother died from breast cancer. Find out their stories and be inspired by how they overcame their personal challenges.

Kapamilyas can watch "Iba Yan" every Sunday 6:30 PM on Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live and 6:30 PM on A2Z Channel.
