Kiss N Tell paints a picture of exes reuniting in new song “Exsena”

February 15, 2022 AT 12:16 PM

Alternative pop rock band Kiss N Tell illustrates the heart-wrenching scenario of former lovers crossing paths again in its new single “Exsena,” released under ABS-CBN’s DNA Music.

“Exsena,” a play on the Tagalog word ‘eksena’ and ‘ex’ for ex-lover, shows the bleak moment when exes meet each other once more and the corresponding memories and realizations that the said encounter conjures up.

The toned down, acoustic pop track was composed by band members Joshua Ortiz (rhythm guitar) and Aniceto Cabahug III (lead guitar) and produced by Gracenote’s Eunice Jorge and Velvet Playground—making it their second collaboration after the group’s previous release “Lundag.”

“Exsena”—which was included in Spotify Philippines’ New Music Friday editorial playlist—adds to Kiss N Tell’s catalogue of love-themed tunes that delve into the many faces of relationships following “Lundag” where the concept of being a ‘rebound’ was explored and the group’s HIMIG 11tth edition entry “Pahina” about bidding farewell to a lover for closure.

Joining Joshua and Aniceto in the band’s current lineup are Lennix Purificacion (lead vocals), Arjumar Arbotante (bass guitar), Ronnel Navarro (keys), and Ernie Bañares (drums).
