Kapamilya singers relish chance to help Odette survivors in 'By Request 2'

Catch "By Request 2" until February 27 (Sunday) on Kumu, Facebook, YouTube, iWantTFC, and SKYcable

Featuring Yeng, Ogie and Regine, Anji, Jona, Gary V., and more

Kapamilya singers are back to singing hits every night to help survivors of Super Typhoon Odette in "By Request 2," a 10-day online benefit concert that is part of the 100-day fund drive "Tulong-Tulong sa Pag-Ahon: Isang Daan sa Pagtutulungan" of ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN Foundation.

Among those who have already lent their talents to raise funds for the delivery of relief goods and house repair kits to affected families were Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid and "PBB Kumunity Season 10" Top 2 celebrity housemate Anji Salvacion.

According to Regine, whose mother hails from Leyte, one of the places hit by Odette, families there are having a hard time fixing their homes.

"'Diba taga-Leyte rin 'yung nanay ko? Apparently kasi 'yung ibang businesses talagang naapektuhan din so they can’t even buy materials para kumpunihin ang kanilang mga bahay even if they have the money. That's the problem," she shared.

"Let's do this together. Kahit anong donasyon makatutulong sa kanila sa pag-ahon at pag-buo muli ng kanilang mga tahanan. Ibahagi natin ang malasakit at pag-asa sa kanila. Ipadama natin na andito tayo para sa isa't isa," she added.

Meanwhile, Anji, whose family is also affected in Siargao, thanked Kapamilyas for the overwhelming support to help typhoon victims get back on their feet.

"Sobra kayong nakaka-inspire. Saludo po ako sa sobrang laki ng puso ninyo at sa pagmamahal po ninyo sa pagtulong sa ating mga Kapamilya na naapektuhan ng bagyong Odette," said Anji, who also recently took part in "The Big Online 10Dahan" fundraiser.

The first day of "By Request 2" kicked off with pop-rock singer Yeng Constantino last February 18 (Friday) as she sang her trending hit "B.A.B.A.Y." plus other requests from avid Kapamilya viewers.

She was then followed by Nyoy Volante and Jed Madela with special guest Jason Dy; OPM power couple Ogie Alcasid and Regine; Klarisse de Guzman with vocal trio iDolls and Vivoree Esclito; ex-"PBB Kumunity Season 10" celebrity housemates Anji, Benedix Ramos, and Jordan Andrews; Jona; New Gen Birit Divas Janine Berdin, Elha Nympha, Lara Maigue, and Sheena Belarmino; and KZ and TJ Monterde.

Also part of the second installment of "By Request," which can be viewed until February 27 (Sunday) on FYE Channel on Kumu, ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel, ABS-CBN Facebook page, iWantTFC, and SKYcable ch. 955 and SD ch. 155, are Vina Morales and Jolina Magdangal; and Mr. Pure Energy himself, Gary Valenciano.

Next up in raising funds for Odette survivors are ABS-CBN narrative shows with their "Kapamilya Family Date Nights." "Viral Scandal" will open it with Family Karaoke Nights from February 28 to March 2, "2 Good 2 Be True" will have "2 Good Family Fun Ka2waan" from March 3 to March 5, followed by "Darna's" "Ultimate FamGames" from March 6 to March 8 and "MMK" and "Viral Scandal's" "Family Kilig Campaign" on March 9.

As of February 22, 203,110 families have received food packs, while 330 families have accepted the home repair kits courtesy of the ABS-CBN Foundation and its partners and donors. The ongoing fund drive has reached over P95.13 million in cash donations and P16.35 million worth of in-kind donations.

Kapamilyas can continue to help the typhoon survivors by availing Tulong Vouchers on Lazada and Shopee, which will add to the funds for the house repair kits to be given to affected families.
