Key track “Dahlia” chronicles the learnings from a love triangle

Promising singer-songwriter Cesca goes on a trip exploring the complexity of relationships in her debut extended play (EP) “Travel,” released under ABS-CBN’s Star Pop label.

“’Travel’ plays around with light-hearted feelings before leaping into a surge of emotions and complex relationships—it takes you on a journey from leaving your own protective bubble to taking risks, facing hurt, and eventually, returning home to comforting arms,” Cesca said on her EP.

A visual and multimedia artist, Cesca was able to express her music artistry this time through the six-track album as she wrote and composed all the songs in it, with overall production by Star Pop label head Rox Santos.

Among the songs in “Travel” are previously released singles “Lovesick (Pagmahalasakit)” and “Pambihirang Harana,” as well as “Her Name,” “What If,” and “Travel (Ma, Pauwi Na).” Its key track “Dahlia” was included on Spotify Philippines’ New Music Friday editorial playlist.

Cesca shared that “Dahlia” is a song that narrates a love triangle through the eyes of a girl who watches the boy she loves choose another girl named Dahlia. Through its piercing Tagalog lyrics, “Dahlia” also shows the strength of two women who have been hurt but learned valuable lessons from their heartbreak.

One of the recent exciting additions to Star Pop’s growing roster of young, talented artists, Cesca’s debut single “Lovesick (Pagmahalasakit)” landed her on the cover and top spot of Spotify PH’s Fresh Finds playlist. The track also earned features on other playlists like OPM Rising, EQUAL Philippines, OPM Says Chillax, Pinoy Love Ballads, Sappy & Senti, and Tatak Pinoy and was included in Apple Music’s Absolute OPM, Viral Hits, and Today’s Hits playlists.
