Spotlight On Lapillus: The Group's Maknae, Haeun, And How She Danced Her Way To Being An Idol 

The youngest member of LAPILLUS may be cute and all, but the moment she takes on the stage, she transforms into a powerful, irresistible performer

<p>The shoot location was filled with squeals of delight when <a href="https://metro.style/people/digital-covers/kpop-girl-group-lapillus-digital-magazine-feature/33840" target="_blank">LAPILLUS</a>’ <em>maknae</em>, <strong>Haeun</strong>, started working her poses in front of the camera for this <strong>Metro.Style</strong> cover shoot. At 13 (she will turn 14 this November), the K-pop idol has already mastered her angles, effortlessly switching from cute to fierce. No wonder people at the shoot were instantly smitten!</p><div><br/></div><p>Age is truly just a number for this new-idol-on-the-block. As one of the youngest K-pop stars in the Korean entertainment scene, Haeun still has a whole lot of things to discover about herself, and she’s discovering them alongside her growth as an artist. Sweet and funny, she offers comfort and laughter to her LAPILLUS <em>eonnies</em>. The artist realized her love for the craft of dancing at only four. She then entered dance academies, and after gaining enough confidence to pursue a career related to dancing, Haeun began a round of auditions. Fortunately, she met someone from MLD Entertainment during one of those auditions, and it was a chance encounter that led to her getting a spot as a trainee for the company.<cite>@official.lapillus</cite></p></div><div class="item-desc"><p> - This LAPILLUS member credits SISTAR as her inspiration in pursuing a career in the K-pop industry. When she was a child, Haeun spent her time endlessly watching the girl group’s performances and dreaming that one day, like her idols, she&#x27;d also be able to perform in front of audiences. Fast forward to present, Haeun has turned her dream into reality, entertaining people with her fellow LAPILLUS members.<cite>@official.lapillus</cite></p></div><div class="item-desc"><p> - Like any artist, the idol had her fair share of difficulties in the beginning of her career as well. Haeun recalled her early days as a trainee, when their leader Shana would warn her about experiencing a creative slump. Initially, she didn’t believe it—how would she be in a slump if that fire for her passion is burning so bright?!Soon, though, there it was, knocking on her door. It was a very challenging time, Haeun admitted, but she’s grateful that her girls are there for her, offering their support this whole time. When the idol finally got over this obstacle, she returned back on track and debuted with LAPILLUS last June with their first single &#x27;HIT YA!.&#x27;<cite>@official.lapillus</cite></p></div><div class="item-desc"><p> - Haeun is even more excited now, with the recently released mini album &#x27;Girls’ Round Part. 1,” featuring the title track &#x27;GRATATA.&#x27; Prior to the song’s launch, the group’s maknae told us, “It’s going to be more powerful than ‘HIT YA!’” She added that it’s fun and festive, too, and their performances are going to be extra strong; now that we’ve heard the song and seen the music video, we definitely agree with Haeun’s descriptions. “Chanty looks really good here,” she also quipped.<cite>Ria Regino</cite></p></div><div class="item-desc"><p> - LAPILLUS has been unstoppable since they debuted—training, rehearsing, performing, filming, and even going on their first international tour in the Philippines. When Haeun gets to squeeze in me-time, however, she knows better than to slack off. On her spare time, she still prefers honing her skills, improving her moves for their upcoming performances, or trying out new choreographies. With her playful demeanor and steely determination, combined with killer talent, Haeun is, no doubt, an artist to watch for.
