<p>The <strong>48th Metro Manila Film Festival</strong> (MMFF) held its &#x27;<strong>Gabi ng Parangal</strong>&#x27; awards ceremony on December 27 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. The big winners of the night were Best Actress <strong>Nadine Lustre</strong>, her movie <em><strong>Deleter</strong></em> (which garnered seven awards), and Best Actor <strong>Ian Veneracion</strong> for <em><strong>Nanahimik ang Gabi</strong></em>.</p><div><br/></div><p>With the theme &#x27;<strong>Balik Saya sa MMFF 2022</strong>,&#x27; there is a noticeably renewed interest in the moviegoing experience for Filipinos, as the pandemic lockdowns saw theaters temporarily shutting down. As a result, the 2020 edition was held virtually, while last year&#x27;s festival had restrictions both in cinema capacity and public activities.
