<p>The love for outdoors is something that actress and digital content creator <strong>Rica Peralejo </strong>is glad she shares with her children, Philip and Manu. She has always loved being one with nature even before she got married. The same advocacy, she says, is something she embraced even more when she gave birth to her first son almost nine years  ago.</p><div><br/></div><p>&#x27;I think it&#x27;s innate in children to want to be dirty… <em>Matatawa ka sa mga bata &#x27;di ba</em>,&#x27; she told <strong>Metro.Style</strong>, expounding on the importance of exposing kids to the outdoors. &#x27;But over time <em>kasi</em>, because they&#x27;ve become so cared for, <em>linis ka nang linis</em>, after a while, they develop this &#x27;I don&#x27;t wanna be uncomfortable anymore&#x27; &#x27;<em>di ba</em>. So <em>maarte</em> over time <em>sa kakaalaga mo sa kanila</em>. I feel like it&#x27;s a mix of it&#x27;s natural in them and you have to keep creating experiences that will help them feel okay about it and feel like this is natural. But from time to time, <em>hindi mawawala sa&#x27;min &#x27;yung</em> camping. <em>&#x27;Yung parang malapit na malapit ka lang sa lupa</em>. It literally is very grounding for you to be actually on the soil, on earth.&#x27; Given the privileges that many kids enjoy these days, Rica feels like activities like camping also helps train kids on resiliency and grit. She added, &#x27;Sometimes, we have to be the ones to make a challenge in our child&#x27;s life.&#x27; </p><div><br/></div><p>When we asked her about the places that tops her family travel bucket list, she named our very own Mount Pulag first (&#x27;because it&#x27;s that mountain that made me fall in love with hiking and the outdoors,&#x27; she says). &#x27;I also want to bring them to <strong>Mount Kinabalu </strong>[in Malaysia]. I also want to bring them to <strong>Machu Picchu</strong> [in Peru]. <strong>Annapurna Circuit</strong> [in Nepal], so that&#x27;s kind of like near Mount Everest. <em>Wala akong</em> plans <em>mag</em>-Everest <em>pero &#x27;yung</em> Annapurna <em>kasi</em> is a circuit and it goes through many towns, so I want them to feel the life of walking for, like, 8-12 days.
