The Star Magic family gathered in an enchanting night of glam and gratitude dubbed as “Star Magical Christmas,” now on its second year of staging. Beyond the chic and whimsical holiday ensembles that jazzed up the white carpet last Sunday, November 19, gratitude and milestones also took center stage during the main program. One of the highlights of the event was the awarding of the stalwarts who’ve been with Star Magic for two decades or more. Two of the night’s Loyalty Awardees were Igi Boy Flores and Carla Guevarra Laforteza. In his speech, Igi Boy, who’s been with Star Magic for 23 years, encouraged his fellow comedians to keep going however difficult their job might be, as this is the time when audiences badly need a source of laughter. Carla, a Star Magic talent for 24 years, imparted one important lesson she’s gleaned through the years: “There’s no small role, only small actors.” She told the younger generation of stars, “Kung anuman ‘yung role na binigay sa inyo, namnamin n’yo ‘yan. Make the most of it ‘cause that’s what makes you the artist that you are.”
