TWBA Throwback: Jaya admits she misses performing with her mother

This episode of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tonightwithboyabunda">Tonight with Boy Abunda </a>that aired in 2018 was both fun and ‘senti’ as Jaya copied her mom Elizabeth Ramsey’s moves and talked about the fondest memories of performing with her.To open the conversation, veteran host Boy Abunda mentioned about Awra Briguela’s impersonation of Elizabeth on <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/yourfaces3">Your Face Sounds Familiar,</a> prompting Jaya to look back on her mom’s signature moves.“I miss performing with my mom,” said Jaya, who stood up and mimicked her mother. She revealed how their conversation would go before sharing the stage. “May mga instructions siya sa akin kung anong gagawin ‘pag nahulog ‘yung patadyong.” The Queen of Soul said performing with her mother was really hard. “Kaloka siya! Meron pa siyang ‘Paintin mo muna ‘yung audience, ‘day. Tapos introduce mo ako, Queen of Rock and Roll, Elizabeth Ramsey, pak! Tapos paglabas ko diyan, pak!’ Puro pak!” She recalled an instance where Elizabeth managed to entertain the audience for five minutes – even without doing anything. “Alam mo ang nangyari? For five minutes, nag-a-applause, nagtatawanan, wala pa silang naririnig. Lumabas lang siya fully-beaded ang damit.”It turned out Jaya is no different from her mom. She’s also funny like her and she was ready to show more of this side at the time. “Gusto kong malaman ng tao, hindi po ako iba sa Nanay ko. Kung ano po ‘yung ginagawa niya, ganun din po ako kaya lang sa bahay ko lang ginagawa. Ngayon, eto na po, ipapakita ko rin sa inyo na luka-luka rin ako.”Jaya was last seen on TV as a <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/tawagngtanghalan">Tawag Ng Tanghalan</a> ‘Punong Hurado’ on <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime">It’s Showtime</a> before moving to the USA.
