Erich Gonzales is thankful for the projects that are coming her way. After playing a young mother in Katorse, she said goodbye to her teeny-bopper days as she has already started doing more mature roles. In her latest soap, Magkaribal, she plays a character poles apart from the naive roles she had before. 'Dito sa Magkaribal napaka-sophisticated ng character ko, very different from Katorse and Tanging Yaman kasi talagang very (particular) sila sa clothes etc.'

Aside from Magkaribal, she is busy shooting an independent digital film entitled Corazon opposite Derek Ramsay. 'I am doing Corazon with Mr. Derek Ramsay, independent film siya. Sobrang iba rin yung role ko dito so I am really excited, parang makikita nila yung ibang Erich naman this time, love story ito na may horror.'

She admits that she got tense when she learned that Derek will be her leading man. 'Nung una nga nung nalaman ko na siya ang ka-partner ko sabi ko, 'Sigurado ba kayo?' And then ayun, masayang katrabaho si Derek and he is really nice.' When she was asked if she is attracted to Derek Ramsay, she said, “Wala po, magkatrabaho lang po talaga kami, okay naman po siyang kaibigan.”

She considers Corazon a milestone in her career as an actor. “Mature yung role ko dito talaga and I can say na first time ko makagawa ng ganito na talagang I know na… basta iba po talaga. Mag-asawa po kami ni Derek dito, tapos I've always wanted a child pero hindi ako nagkakaroon ng anak, dumating sa point na lahat na trina-try ko like yung mga santo etc. Eventually nagka-anak ako then the baby dies, then dun na maguumpisa yung twist ng story,' Erich shares.

She is happy to know that her career is progressing with the characters she is portraying. 'Bilang artista I want to grow din naman ayoko naman mag-stop sa isang role na puro pa-sweet and it helps also na yung mga character na pino-portray mo matututo ka from them.'
