Toni Gonzaga shares why she agreed to bare more skin in 'This Guy's In Love With You, Mare'

<img src="" alt="093012-toni-main.jpg" width="305" height="290" align="left" border="0"/>Known for her top-grossing rom-com films like My Amnesia Girl, My Big Love and You Are The One, Toni Gonzaga said she is looking forward to how fans will react to a more unconventional kind of love story in her newest Star Cinema project, This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare which also stars Vice Ganda and Luis Manzano. “Yung role ko dito naman parang generic, parang role ng mga babae na nangangarap na magkaroon ng love, magkaroon ng masayang pamilya, ng lalaking mamahalin habang buhay so ganun din. Hindi naman kami nahirapan magkatrabaho nung first time namin mag-sama sama sa mga eksena, una sa lahat kasi magkaibigan na din kami. Tapos hindi namin first [time] makatrabaho si Direk Wenn Deramas. In separate projects, nakatrabaho na namin siya kaya magaan lang sa set, masaya kasi alam mong mag kaibigan mo at saka gamay mo na rin sila kahit papano. Wala naman masyadong parang weirdness, masaya lang,” she shared during the This Guy’s In Love With You, Mare presscon held last September 27 at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound.<div> </div><div>The movie includes lots of first-time onscreen experiences for Toni, one of which is her first time to wear a bathing suit on the set. The 28-year-old actress also explained why she opted not to inform her Mommy Pinty about filming the scene. “Hindi ko na rin naman sinasabi para magkagulatan na lang. Gulatin ko na lang din siya (laughs). Mabilis naman yung scenes eh, hindi naman bastos. At this age ha sinabihan pa niya ako ng, ‘Hindi ka talagang puwede pabayaan! Kung anu-anong gagawin mo (laughs).’ Hindi naman siya nagalit kasi kinuwento ko naman sa kanya kung ano yung eksena, hindi naman yung bathing suit na ending ay maghuhubaran, love scene or bed scene. Resort lang naman. Sabi ko, ‘Anong gusto mo sa resort, naka-pants ako?’ (laughs) at saka one-piece naman. Baka sa susunod na ang two-piece (laughs). Nung ginawa ko yun, parang hindi ko siya kinonsider (laughs),” she admitted.</div><div> </div><div>Toni explained that as an artist, it is also important to change things up for the audience. “Sa scene na yun, basta nasa resort lang kami tapos tinanong kung may bathing suit ba ako. Lagi akong may bathing suit din naman (laughs). Ready rin naman ako. Minsan sa isang pictorial nag bathing suit ako pero hindi naman lagi, bihira lang, bigay mo lang minsan, hindi araw-araw,” she added.</div><div> </div><div>Although she was open to shooting scenes in swimwear, Toni said she would never consider posing for a men’s magazine. “Kasi pag sa men’s magazine ka na nag-pose, iba na yung gusto mo palabasin. Gusto mong pagpantasyahan ka ng mga kalalakihan. Huwag naman sa men’s magazine,” she explained.</div><div> </div><div>Even if she did decide to do it, Toni said it’s not her boyfriend she would get any violent reactions from. “Naku wala namang ano si Direk Paul (Soriano), ang problemahin niyo nanay ko. Hindi daw ako puwede maiwan sa ano ako. Nung isang beses, nag-pose kami sa magkaibang magazine ni Alex (her younger sister), sabay na sabay lumabas tapos pareho kaming kita yung cleavage. Eh nasa America mommy ko, pag-uwi niya nagalit siya. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi ko kayo puwede maiwan., hindi ko maipakita sa bible study group ko! Hindi ko ma-i-promote!’ Pino-promote pala niya (laughs). Sabi nga niya, ‘Ikaw pag hindi ka mabantayan, mag-bo-bold star ka (laughs)’ Biro lang naman niya yun. pero kasi at the end of the day, alam naman niya na hindi ako gagawa ng isang bagay na mababastos ako,” she stressed.</div><div> </div><div>Although her parents may seem strict, Toni clarified that she is not rebelling against them because she knows she has their trust. “Wow, at this age ha, ngayon pa ako nag-rebelde? (laughs) Alam naman nila kung hanggang saan ang limitasyon ko sa sarili ko. May tiwala naman yun sa akin. Alam naman nila na yung pag-be-bathing suit ko ay hindi dahil sa paghuhubad, dahil sa wholesome na eksena naman yun. at saka hindi naman yun naka-tight shot sa puwet ko, sa boobs ko, full shot naman yugn mga eksenang yun. Masama na pag naka-zoom yun dito or biglang zoom in sa puwet ko, hindi naman ganun,” she said.</div><div> </div><div>Another first for Toni in the movie was filming her kissing scenes with Vice Ganda, who plays the ex-boyfriend of Luis who wants to win her heart under false pretenses. When asked how it felt to shoot the scene, Toni admitted it was a different kind of experience. “Iba. Pinakaiba sa lahat. Hindi ako nagki-kissing scene di ba? Ngayon parang gusto ko na bumalik sa no kissing scene policy (laughs). Parang ayoko na ulit mag-kissing scene, trauma pala yung kissing scene (laughs). Hindi naman trauma, weird lang. Parang kiniss mo yung kapatid mo, si Alex (laughs) di ba weird yun?
