Aside from being the voice behind most teleserye theme songs, Angeline Quinto takes on a new challenge as she stars in her very own soap Kahit Konting Pagtingin. The singer-turned-actress said that she was really surprised when the project was offered to her late last year. “Unang-una, sobrang saya ko. Ngayon ako naman ang mapapanood ng mga tao araw-araw as opposed sa dati na lagi ko lang kinakanta mga theme songs ng teleserye. Hindi ko maipaliwanag yung pakiramdam dahil hindi ko ito inaasahan sa buhay ko. Pero siyempre lahat ng trabahong dumarating sa akin ay talagang pinahahalagahan ko at ine-enjoy ko.”

It’s definitely a big project for Angeline because she gets to be paired with Kapamilya heartthrobs Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino. When asked to describe her leading men, she shared that she enjoyed getting to know Paulo who turned out to be such a sweet guy. “Kami ni Paulo ngayon lang kami nagkatrabaho. Pero dati nagkasama kami sa isang workshop pero mabilis lang. Unti-unti nakikilala ko si Paulo. Sweet siya na tao. Akala ko nga noon medyo suplado siya. Pero habang tumatagal, kahit papaano, minsan nagkukwentuhan kami. Lagi kaming happy set lang kaya lahat magaan kasama at katrabaho.”

As for Sam, the fact that they often see each other on ASAP made it easier for her to establish onscreen chemistry with him. She also admitted that the Rockoustic Heartthrob is her crush when asked to choose between her two leading men. “Ay, hindi po pwedeng dalawa (laughs)? Si Paulo kasi ngayon ko lang nakikilala. Pero kung papipiliin niyo ako, si Sam. Huwag na lang kayo maingay please (laughs)? Si Sam naman hindi maaalis yung pagkakulit nun, kahit hirap ako maintindihan mga salita niya. Tsaka medyo matagal ko na kakilala. After ko lang manalo ng Star Power kilala ko na siya kaya medyo may bonding na rin kami.”

Although it helps that she already has acting experience from the movie Born To Love You, Angeline shared that doing a teleserye is more exhausting because of the long working hours. But she is grateful that Coco Martin was able to give her tips in the past. “Ang natutunan ko sa movie, ’wag male-late at matuto ka makipagusap sa mga katrabaho mo kahit ‘di mo pa sila ganon kakilala. Kasi yun magbibigay sa ‘yo ng confidence ‘pag magkakaroon kayo eksena. Lagi matulog kapag may chance kasi sa teleserye napatunayan ko na napakahirap at napakabilis ng oras. Kaya pag may chance, minsan ‘di na ako kumakain kapag break para itulog ko na lang.”
