Luis Manzano confirms breakup with Jennylyn Mercado

It seems that actor-host Luis Manzano spoke to soon about his purported break up with girlfriend Jennylyn Mercado as exactly one week since he belied the most recent break up rumor thrown their way, it was the multi-awarded host himself who confirmed that they have indeed called it quits.

What started as a mere blind-item from “Kris TV” head writer Darla Sauler’s blog last October 9 in particular about a celebrity couple who has already gone down to Splitsville eventually led the public into concluding that it was Luis and Jennylyn.

Recall that it was the “Minute To Win It” host who quickly slammed the rumor via a curt response published on the blog saying that it’s “not true.”

However, this time though, things took a turn for the worse as the rumor eventually came into reality with the couple actually parting ways.

“According to Luis okay naman daw talaga sila that time. And magkasama talaga sila sa Aliw Awards. Pero this time... sadly, pero totoong break na sila,” Darla wrote on her October 17 post.

Without giving details as to the true reason behind the ending of their nearly two-year-old relationship Darla quoted Luis as saying, “We want to keep things private na lang” when sought for an official statement as to the matter.

While their relationship has been no stranger to tirades for quite a while now, something which started the moment they got together, the most controversial among them though sprouted last year when Jennylyn’s name was dragged as the alleged third party in the separation of actor Paolo Contis from his wife, EB Babes dancer Lian Paz, which supposedly got Luis’ suspicious about Jennylyn.

Amidst all the controversies, though, the two have remained adamant in asserting that they are happy with their relationship.

It may even be recalled that just a month ago, the 32-year-old host even rallied to the GMA-7 actress’ side when rumors tagging the latter as “mukhang pera” emerged due to the fact that she’s allegedly for asking for financial support from Patrick Garcia, the father of her son Alex Jazz.

Without wanting to meddle to Jennylyn’s affair with her ex-flame, Luis underscored in a report that, “I know Jen, I know how much money she makes kahit paano. I don’t know the exact figures, but I know she’s very blessed, and Jen is not the type na isip-pera.”
