122413-Eugene_Main.jpgAs one of the top contenders in this year's Metro Manila Film Fest, Eugene Domingo admitted she is feeling optimistic about her movie Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel which recently received a “B” rating. “B is for box-office hit! We just want to have good reviews, get awards, and be watched by many people. We're back to word-of-mouth promo, back to basics, social networking,” she shared during the movie's special screening held last December 23 at the Glorietta cinemas in Makati City.

Eugene admitted she was happy to get support from her friends in the industry during the screening. So gusto ko magpasalamat kay Pokwang at saka kay John Lapus, Zanjoe Marudo, Bea Alonzo, Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz, lahat ng mga malapit sa puso ko andito like si Enchong Dee and most especially, direk Wenn Deramas is watching,” she said.

Eugene said that her Christmas this year will be spent among her fans on Kimmy Dora's opening day. Mamemersonal ako sa pasko (laughs),” she shared.

The talented comedienne also admitted there is another reason why she is very proud of her latest project. “This is the last Kimmy Dora. Ang masasabi ko dun oo dapat lang, three is enough. I think kung mauulit man ang Kimmy Dora puwede siyang mag-venture out into comics or books, ganun. Kung maulit man ito after ten years like Dyesebel or Darna, I really hope Ryzza Mae can do this or Kiray or Anne Curtis (laughs),” she joked.

The movie involved Eugene doing a lot of fight scenes which the actress found to be more challenging than acting dual roles of Kimmy and Dora. Pero we really had to work for it. Ako talagang naglaan ako ng time and effort. So it was really hard but when we saw the finished product, naisip ko, 'Lord nagawa ko yan ng hindi ako naaaksidente, salamat po,' yung ganun. It was a really rewarding feeling to challenge yourself, to push yourself,” she said.

Eugene said she can credit her leaner figure to working on the film. “Yun na nga partida wala akong girdle na suot ngayon (laughs). Pumayat talaga ako dito,” she added.

Next year, Eugene said she plans to put movies on the back burner and enjoy promoting her projects abroad instead. “In 2014, I'll take it easy. I'll be concentrating on festivals na pupuntahan ng Barber's Tales and also it will be shown early part of next year so mag-co-concentrate muna ako dun kasi it's like a re-introduction eh. Dramang-drama naman siya,” she shared.
