Zanjoe Marudo recently stirred up netizens when he posted a photo of himself and girlfriend Bea Alonzo on Instagram with the caption, “Cool off.” Zanjoe clarified his post in an interview with Push.com.ph at the Kwento ng Pasko: Pag-asa at Pagbangon solidarity concert.

“Siguro dahil matagal na akong walang litrato naming dalawa sa Instagram, so nung nag-post ako habang nagdi-dinner kami [ni Bea], nag-iisip ako kung ano ba ang magandang caption,” he shared. “Wala siyang maisip, wala rin akong maisip, so sabi ko, 'Cool-off na lang kasi lagi naman tayong cool-off eh,'” he said clearly amused.

But to set the record straight the Annaliza star shared that they are “Okay na okay” as a couple and that they never experienced cooling off for as he opined “Pambata lang ang cool-off. Pang-high school lang ‘yun.”

So why the caption then? “Di ba lagi kaming nai-issue na cool-off?” he answered, apparently mocking the persistent rumors. The actor-comedian even added that their two-year-old relationship has been nothing short of smooth-sailing. “Wala kaming problema. Sobrang okay kami. Naiintindihan na namin [ang pagiging busy ng bawat isa] kasi mature na. Trabaho ito eh so kailangan naming intinidhin. Mas okay na kami. Talagang halos wala na kaming mapag-awayan,” Zanjoe stated.

One of the problems that the couple faced in the past were their respective tight schedules as Kapamilya stars, something which Zanjoe stressed that they have already resolved. “Dadating at dadating naman ang time na magkakaoras. Hindi naman kami nawalan ng matagal na matagal. Katulad ngayon, Christmas vacation, lahat ng oras nasa amin,” he explained.

Zanjoe clarified that despite keeping them apart sometimes, he claims that they know better than to complain about the projects that are coming their way. “Siyempre kapag trabaho, kailangan ang focus namin nasa trabaho. Reklamo kami ng reklamo ng oras, mamaya ibigay sa amin lahat ng oras, wala na kaming trabaho,” he said.
