Amidst the controversies that previously surrounded Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin, Rayver Cruz is nevertheless excited about the teleserye where he is part pf the cast along with Dawn Zulueta, Gerald Anderson, Cristine Reyes, and Dina Bonnevie.

“Sobrang excited. Nag-start na kamin mag-taping and happy ako sa mga nangyayari sa set. Ang gaganda ng mga eksena namin nina Gerald. ‘Yon, sobrang excited na kaming ipalabas.”

The actor also said that he feels honored to be working with Dawn, who is replacing Maricel Soriano in the series. Rayver related that he felt nervous during his first scene with the seasoned actress, but just like the rest of the cast, they all get along well.

Rayver will also be working with ex-girlfriend Cristine. The couple announced their breakup just this January. Asked about their working relationship, Ravyer replied, “Okay naman… okay naman. Wala namang nagbabago.”

Cristine recently celebrated her birthday last February 5 so Rayver was asked if he gave his former girlfriend a birthday present. “Binati ko siya sa birthday niya. Okay na ‘yon, di kailangan laging may regalo. Importante ‘yung andun pa rin ‘yung ano… hindi naman magbabago ‘yung samahan namin, magkaibigan pa rin kami… Mahal ko siya bilang magkaibigan,” he replied.

The actor shared that it was their mutual decision to go their separate ways; they are both at peace with their lives now. “’Yun ang napagdesisyunan namin, so mas okay na ‘yung ganon. Happy pa rin naman kami sa mga buhay namin,” said Rayver.

Though their relationship has changed, Rayver revealed that he and Cristine still have an open communication. “Minsan nagkaka-text kami tapos siyempre nagkikita kami minsan kasi neighbors na kami, eh. Ang lapit na lang ng bahay namin sa [bahay nila], mga 10-15 minutes. Malapit so magkikita-kita kayo do’n. Ang liit lang ng Parañaque.”

Apart from the teleserye, Rayver will be part of the movie OTJ (On The Job), which will also star Gerald Anderson and Piolo Pascual.
