Busy with preparations for his upcoming birthday concert at the end of the April, Daniel Padilla said that he is not thinking of buying himself another birthday gift aside from maybe another sports car, which is one of his biggest interests at the moment. “Wala, isa pang ano siguro (laughs) hindi loko lang. Basta siguro, wish ko na lang tuloy-tuloy na sana ito,” he admitted.

He was recently reported to have given his on- and off-screen partner Kathryn Bernardo a pricey designer bag for her birthday last month. “Naku huwag na natin pag-usapan (laughs),” he said.

And although he admitted to receiving a bass guitar as an early birthday gift from Kath, DJ said he does not put that much thought into gifts. “Okay na ako sa shoes, masyado ng marami. Hindi na ako nag-iisip kung ano man pero kung ano man yun, ayos lang sa akin,” he added.

The 17-year-old actor recently purchased brand new cars for himself and for his family as well as buying a lot in Fairview, Quezon City where he is constructing a new house. DJ admitted his mom Karla Estrada is the one who takes care of his finances and refuses to divulge his total earnings so far. “Puwede ba sabihin yun? (laughs). Pero si mama lang talagang nakakaalam lahat nun,” he said.

DJ said that despite being catapulted into the limelight last year, he said that he has not changed much as a person. “Wala, hindi naman ako nagbabago eh. Ganun pa rin. (laughs),” he stressed. The Must Be Love actor downplayed the effect he has on his fans even after numerous jam-packed mall shows and fan events. “Hindi naman ako hinahabol, siguro nag-he-hello lang naman sila. Masaya naman ako pag ganun. Nagpapasalamat na lang ako. Malakas talaga ako sa bata. Pansin ko yun kahit nung hindi pa ako nag-a-artista lagi pag may bata napapansin ako,” he admitted.

The teen actor said he has already gotten used to always being compared to his uncle Robin Padilla who has always had a tough guy image. “Hindi ko naman ginagaya pero okay naman yun kung sinasabing ginagaya, Robin Padilla. Bakit ko naman idi-deny kung si Tito Robin ang ikinukumpara sa iyo? Compliment yun. Salamat na lang din, basta ako ayoko din naman na kumbaga Robin na lang din ako, gusto ko din maging Daniel,” he said.

After getting a double platinum award for his debut album last year, DJ said he is getting ready for his second album as well as anticipating his mom's upcoming first album as well. “Nakakatawa nga eh. Nakakatawa kasi pati ba naman si ermats ako pa kakalabanin? (laughs) Pero hindi, nakakatuwa din si ermats, nakaka-proud kasi si mama din singer talaga. Kaya salamat binigyan din ng chance,” he said. When asked if his mom Karla will also be performing in his birthday concert, DJ said it will be highly unlikely if his parents have to do a duet together. “Sabi niya mag-ge-guest lang daw siya pag may choir siyang kasama (laughs). Nandidiri na nga siya pag nag-duduet sila ni papa. Kasi gusto daw ni papa makipag-duet kay ermats. Si mama nandidiri na siya eh (laughs).”
