071313-tuhog_main.jpgAs part of another quality maindie film, the cast of Skylight Films' Tuhog shared what gives them inspiration and happiness in their lives right now. Jake Cuenca, who plays bus driver Nato in the film, said he tries to prioritize his quality of life every day. “Ang motto ko sa buhay, I just live everyday like it's my last. Gagawin ko ang best ko regardless if it's work or with my family or with my friends. Para sa akin, I live everyday likes it's my last. So para sa akin, kahit anong ginagawa ko, I do it to the best of my capabilities every day,” he admitted.

Enchong Dee and Empress, who play college sweethearts in Tuhog, also admitted to living life with positivity. “Life is short but unhappiness makes it shorter so I make sure na wala akong nakakabangga, wala akong nakakaaway, lagi akong masaya. Kasi hindi mo alam, the next thing you know, temporary rin kasi yung pagiging masaya mo eh. So kung may maliliit na bagay na puwede ka maging masaya, grab it,” Enchong explained. 20-year-old Empress also agreed with her leading man's sentiments.

One of the movie's veteran cast members Leo Martinez, who plays a retired government employee had this to say: “Ako'y matagal ng living life to the fullest, natatapos na nga sa palagay ko (laughs). Medyo senior citizen na ako kaya unang una yung father ko ang sabi sa amin nung bata kami, you choose a job you love you'll never have to work a day in your life. So labing dalawa kaming magkakapatid.

Eugene Domingo, who plays main character Fiesta, a barker for a public bus company who falls for Nato the driver, said she was able to appreciate life better after an accident on a set of her indie movie Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank in 2011. At lahat ng senses natin sana ma-satisfy,” she said.

The Tuhog cast members were also unified in admitting that they pray religiously everyday. “Tuwing nakakakita ako ng simbahan nagdadasal ako. Basta may nakita akong krus, nag-a-Our Father ako, Hail Mary at saka Glory Be. All the time. Kada may madaan akong ospital, nagdadasal ako. Galing akong Opus Dei eh. Sa school ako nag-Opus Dei so I'm very religious and Katoliko nga ako so I pray as much as I can,” Jake admitted.

Former varsity athlete Enchong said he finds his prayer time during training. Minsan kapag mag-isa ka lang, pipikit ka lang, wala kang makausap, Siya na lang makausap mo,” he said.

Eugene shared how she does her prayers. “Mahilig akong mag-rosaryo. So natapos naman,” she said.
