<div><img src="" alt="072613-direk_main.jpg" width="305" height="290" align="left" border="0"/>When asked what made Joyce Bernal say “yes” to direct <i>Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo</i>, she remarked, “’<i>Yung si </i>Ramon (Bautista) <i>sa libro niya ano ‘yun eh, siguro dahil matanda na ako pero nong pumasok ‘yung libro ni </i>Ramon <i>naka</i>-relate <i>ako, hindi naman sa hindi ako</i> crush<i> ng</i> crush <i>ko, pero naka</i>-relate <i>ako bigla</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>She said that the book presented a new brand of love story that’s why she was so eager to do the movie. “<i>Bale nong nabasa ko ‘yung kwento, kasi ‘yung</i> love story<i> di ba naghahanap na siya ng bagong kilig, ang</i> movie<i> na to ‘yung gagawa ng pagpapalabas ng bagong</i> flavor<i> at ng</i> feelings,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div>According to the director, working with Ramon Bautista was such a different experience. “<i>Pag dumarating siya nakangiti kami tapos kwentuhan, tapos pupunta siya agad sa </i>table,<i> tapos kakain, tapos ang sarap ng kwentuhan. Tapos darating si </i>Xian (Lim)<i> at si</i> Kim (Chiu). <i>Pero lalapit sila, tapos makikipag-kwentuhan. Pagnandon si </i>Ramon<i> nakangiti ka, kaya magaan lang</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>She said that it helped a lot that Ramon is a funny guy. “<i>Siguro sa buong </i>experience <i>ko rin sa paggawa ng pelikula walang </i>Ramon,<i> walang ganong topak na pumasok sa pelikula ko, topak ko lang, pero bilang ano, natulungan ako ng topak ni </i>Ramon.”</div><div><br/></div><div>On working with Xian Lim and Kim Chiu, she said that she witnessed how dedicated they were. “<i>Meron akong</i> idea <i>na si </i>Kim Chiu <i>sikat.</i> <i>Tapos si</i> Xian<i> din ganon,</i> two years <i>pa lang pero </i>although<i> sumikat na siya. </i>So <i>wala talaga akong</i> idea. So <i>don lang sa</i> shooting <i>ko naramdaman. Kasi </i>usually<i> naman pag</i>-talented<i> ka at hindi mo binigay, pero sila naman </i>willing, <i>kahit pagod na pagod kasi </i>they were doing the soap (the now defunct<i> Ina, Kapatid, Anak</i>) <i>nong</i> time<i> na ‘yun.</i>” She shared that they were also full of enthusiasm. “’<i>Yung sa pagdating sa </i>set <i>namin ‘yung unang </i>concern <i>nila tanggalin ‘yung eyebags noh, pero pagkatapos ‘yung</i> energy <i>nandon na</i>.”</div><div><br/></div><div>She relayed that Xian and Kim has helped her to spice up the movie with youthfulness. “’<i>Yung lang siguro kailangan ko talaga ng</i> youthfulness <i>nila bilang binitiwan na ako ng </i>youthfulness <i>ko. Kailangan ko ‘yung perspektibo nila, kailangan ko ‘yung ibang pagtingin sa </i>love story,<i> ibang pakikitungo</i>,” she said.</div><div><br/></div><div><i>Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo</i> will be showing on July 31 in theaters nationwide.</div><div><br/></div>
