After playing the role of Eugene Domingo's gay sibling in Momzillas, comedian Joey Paras will be launched in Bekikang, a movie written and directed by Wenn Deramas. The movie is said to be inspired by Direk Wenn's own life story and Joey said he feels very blessed to have been chosen to play the lead role.
He credits his success to direk Wenn, who discovered him while watching a play. He invited me to do a role sa Kahit Puso'y Masugatan at doon na nagsimula ang lahat ng mga bagay bagay,” he said.

After making his mark in movies like Sisterakas, Bwakaw, Bromance: My Brother’s Romance, and Dance of the Steel Bars, Joey is now working on the upcoming Vice Ganda starrer Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy. In his most recent film Momzillas, Joey admitted he also enjoyed working with the Diamond star Maricel Soriano for the second time around. “Yung first is nung nag-cameo si Inay Mary sa indie ko na Last Supper No.3, yung first lead role.

Joey credited his start in showbiz to theater, which is his first love. “Nag-start ako sa teatro. I used to be part of Tanghalang Pilipino Actors Company. After doing theater, nagbanda din ako abroad tapos when I came back to the Philippines gumawa ako ng konting soap hanggang dumating yung Last Supper No. 3 for Cinemalaya.

The talented comedian also won best supporting actor in this years' Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival awards for his role as an online scammer in Babagwa (The Spider’s Lair). But because of his busy schedule, he admitted he won't be able to join the film's screening abroad as it has also been invited to different international film festivals. Gusto ko sana talaga sumama,” he admitted.
