013014-Anne_Main.jpgAfter recently being announced as the star of the upcoming Kapamilya fantaserye Dyesebel, Anne Curtis admitted she was overwhelmed and surprised at the offer. 'It's my first na talagang title role kaya sobrang salamat talaga and I promise to do my best para hindi ma-disappoint yung mga avid followers ng Dyesebel. I didn't expect it at all. Kasi dapat talaga ibang teleserye yung gagawin ko this year so ung sinabing iba na at Dyesebel na I said thank you so much!' she shared during her contract-signing last January 29 inside the ABS-CBN compound.

Anne signed a new two-year contract with ABS-CBN which includes It’s Showtime and Dyesebel as her projects this year. 'It does feel different this year because it just goes to show that you have found family and that they'll always have faith in you no matter what they'll give you a chance,' she shared.

The It’s Showtime host said she is excited to start working on her newest project this weekend. 'We were able to do a teaser shoot and we're leaving this weekend to shoot in Palawan so we're very, very excited. Ang ganda talaga ng pasok ng 2014. I feel so blessed and grateful. Tulad rin ng mga tao sobra rin akong excited din, as in it's every girl's dream to become a mermaid. So to be able to portray one that's a part of Philippine literature is such an honor. Pressure din pero nakaka-excite (laughs).” she admitted.

When asked about her good friend Vhong Navarro whom she visited in the hospital last week, Anne said she is thankful he survived the attack. 'For me kasi I'm just happy na talagang he's safe and I'm happy that he's getting through this. Alam mo yun kasi napakahirap sa isang tao na mapagdaanan yun siyempre medyo traumatizing. So I'm happy that he's getting through it, he's being strong and Vhong whatever happens we're here for you no matter what. Alam mo yan,' she said.

The 29-year-old actress said she can vouch for her friend and has never known Vhong to be a playboy or abusive to women. 'Kita naman ng lahat how he is onscreen. Ganun din siya sa akin offscreen, sobrang bait niya. Sobrang bait,' she said.

Anne also defended Vhong against rumors that more women might start coming out in public soon to divulge their own encounters with the actor. 'No, I don't think there is anything I can say to that because I don't know about it so I don't know. For me he's always treated me well. He's always been a gentleman to me so I have nothing bad to say about Vhong,' she added.

As to when her co-host will be back to work on their show, Anne said the most important thing right now to her is that he is safe and healthy again. 'Wala pa siguro. One day at a time for him and we'll just be here to support him no matter what,' she said.
