Jake Cuenca took to social media to make an announcement about his relationship status.

The former Ikaw Lamang star claimed that he is “single again” via a Twitter post on November 14. Jake was in a relationship with Filipino-Australian model Chanel Olive Thomas for almost six months.

While he didn’t elaborate as to the reason why they parted ways, Jake nevertheless got some support from his other friends.

Pure Love star Joseph Marco even commented on Jake’s post that he “just keeps it real!” Later on, Joseph even prodded Jake to get back into working out by posting, “@ijakecuenca haha! Kitakits sa monday bro! Pakundisyon na tayo ulit!”

In previous reports, Jake had said that he was not yet looking into tying the knot anytime soon especially since his girlfriend just turned 24.

The best thing about their relationship according to Jake was the fact that Chanel had no idea that he was a celebrity when they met. In fact, she thought he was also a model just her after seeing one of his billboards.

'It’s something different for me. Kasi minsan, kapag artista ka, may konting leverage ka sa panliligaw, kasi celebrity ka. Ito, wala. Hindi niya ako kilala. Ngayon, pinapanood niya ako at sinusuportahan niya ang lahat ng ginagawa ko,” he said then.

Jake had also clarified then that, contrary to speculations, they weren’t a couple yet when they went to Bali, Indonesia. But it was during that trip when he formally asked her to be his girlfriend.

Chanel for her part has yet to comment on the incident but just two days ago, she posted a photo of two hands intertwined on her Instagram account which many presumed to be of her and Jake.
