With a promising career in hosting, former collegiate volleyball player Gretchen Ho admitted she is lucky to be in a relationship where her boyfriend Robi Domingo is very supportive of her many different endeavors. Gretchen said Robi has helped build her confidence when it comes to facing the camera and being a good host.
“He's very, very supportive kasi I never expected myself to be in this track so sometimes I do have doubts kung tama ba na I’m supposed to be here or maybe I should just go corporate. Very unstable [occupation] siya, hindi naman siya yung constant. But he always encourages me and tells me, ‘Kaya mo yan. You’re improving already.’ He watches my performances on TV and during events and he gives me advice dahil matagal na siya sa industry. So he tells me to not do this or do that, ganun. Very supportive naman siya,” she revealed.

Even though she has graduated from competing in the UAAP, Gretchen said she still makes sure to work out as much as she can, with Robi even describing her as a “fitness monster” whenever they're in the gym together. “Intense talaga ako mag-workout eh. As in siguro nung college ako ang tawag sa akin ng mga teammates ko ‘magis’ (Wikipedia describes “magis” as an expression for aspiration and inspiration which relates to forming the ideal society centered around Jesus Christ). Kasi parang I'm always going the extra mile. Ganun yung motto ko pag nag-wu-workout ako nung college, na pag pagod ako mas gusto ko na ma-reach ko yun tapos I would go one extra mile, meaning nun if I reach my limit I make sure that I go beyond it para the next time yung limit ko na-surpass ko na tapos iba na yung limit ko,” she said.

Gretchen admitted that she misses competing regularly so she tries to squeeze out as much as she can from her workouts. It also helps that Robi can be intense when working out as well because he pushes her to do better. “Mas gusto ko na drained na drained ako after workout so medyo tama siya dun (laughs) na intense ako mag-workout. Pero hindi ko naman siya matatapatan kasi lalake siya eh. Siguro when it comes to inspiration siguro we keep each other in check, pag nag-wu-workout ako na-cha-challenge siya na mag-workout din. So hindi siya papayag na ako lang. Siguro we’re competitive in that sense,” she said.

The athlete-turned-host said she and Robi are compatible when it comes to leading healthy lifestyles. “The good thing about it is that gusto ko rin naman ng partner na athletic eh. So it’s nice that we get to work out with each other. Parang natutuwa ako na we share the same interests and we enjoy doing it together,” she admitted.

Another thing she is busy now aside from hosting The Score is her new business The Inspired Project which includes T-shirts, cellphone cases, and other accessories. “The lines come from me and the design is done by the designer of Get Blued. We really want to have our own store that when people come in they immediately get inspired. Ganun yung gusto naming mangyari so we want to sell shirts but it’s actually not a shirt business eh. We also want to sell notebooks, inspirational posters, puwede rin tumblers. So we want to expand talaga para maging variety store siya of inspirational stuff,” she said.
