For the first time since their intriguing family feud broke into the mainstream media, controversial actress Claudine Barretto finally aired her side on what really ignited her ongoing rift with her two older sisters: Marjorie and Gretchen Barretto.

Everything started back in 2010 when Gretchen and Marjorie, according to Claudine in an interview with Buzz ng Bayan on Sunday, sent an ambulance at her house.

'Nagpadala siya ng ambulansya sa bahay namin ni Raymart with a pediatrician. I was with my best friend and some other friends, we were eating. Kilala ko, pediatrician to ni Gretchen eh. Pumunta ako sa gate, nakita ko nandoon si Marjorie (Barretto), nandoon si Gretchen. Sabi ni Gretchen, 'Can I please go in?' Since kapatid ko naman siya, kahit hindi kami okay, pinapasok ko. I didn't know what this was all about. Pagpasok nila, later dumating na 'yung pediatrician with the ambulance and I think there were eight men inside' she said.

'I asked my sister, 'What is this? What are you gonna get me for?' She just looked at her doctor and she said, 'Do something.' I knew my rights, she was trespassing. Sabi ko sa kanila, 'Saan, sa drug addiction or sa mental illness?' Kasi hindi ko alam. And then sabi niya 'Basta doc, nag-overdose iyan' 'Claudine continued.

Despite being considered mentally ill by her sisters, Claudine maintains that, as her doctor puts it, what she's actually going through is mental torture after being diagnosed of having battered wife syndrome.

While she was initially dismayed by how they see her, she took comfort over the fact in knowing that it wasn't true.

'For a while I was angry, I was hurt, even depressed, I guess. But nung nakikita kong nagse-self destruct na siya [Gretchen], naaawa na ako sa kanya kasi napakasinungaling na' she narrated.

First blood

Last year saw the worse for the Barretto feud as speculations arose that Claudine was assuming various identities on social media sites to deride her two older sisters and even her niece Julia Barretto.

'Everything that will try to hurt and destroy me they will do' she began pertaining to the photos of family gatherings posted by her sisters on their respective Instagram accounts, which she admits affects her in some way.

'They drew first blood and they were accusing me of so many things. I just kept quiet the whole time. They were just bullying and bullying. They did not stop. Ganito ba dapat ang ugali ng mga ate? Let's say, for example, if I'm mentally ill, lalong nakakasira ng ulo 'yung ginagawa nila. Nakadapa na, tatapakan mo pa, duduraan ka pa. Gretchen knows this. She's heartless' she blurted.

However, what really turned her against Gretchen was during the time when the Princess and I star started saying unkind things about her on the phone where her now estranged husband Raymart Santiago and their kids Sabina and Santino could hear.

'The day that she started talking bad about my kids on the phone, on speaker and Raymart was there. Raymart, bahala na siya sa Diyos niya. He was there when Gretchen started calling them names. When she said na, 'Wala ka ng career, baboy ka, lechon, wala ka ng power. You will never be back in this industry. Magpakamatay ka na lang, Claudine.' You know, Gretchen, you swear on your child's life if you did not say that. I dare you, because you are such a liar' she said.

In fact her remorse towards Gretchen led her to a decision that she does't want to be affiliated with the former anymore.

'Pakiusap ko kay Gretchen, any question about me, stop answering. I don't want to be affiliated with you because you are a shame to this family. I want you to stay away from me and my children' Claudine stated.

While it may seem that her tiff with Gretchen is not seeing any ending any time soon, Claudine once again shocked the public by saying that she actually despises Marjorie more than her other sister 'kasi pinagaway niya kami ni Gretchen eh'

'One thing I will forever regret is that I always made life easy for my sister. For Marjorie. But she killed me the day na tinanggalan niya ako ng karapatan to see my nieces na pinalaki ko. Nakalimutan niya ako 'yung ako talaga'

Does Marjorie know about what she feels towards her?

'I don't know and I don't know her anymore. And you know what I grieved for her. Pinatay ko na siya sa buhay ko. I would never ever do anything to hurt my nieces' she said adding that, 'I just pray that they don't forget, Dani, Julia, Clauie, Leon.'

Meanwhile, Marjorie, in a statement sent to Buzz, which was also relayed on air on the same episode, countered two major claims made by Claudine.

'Claudine for your information, Mom and Dad begged us to rush to your house because your personal assistant told them you finished all your anti-anxiety medicine. We had with us a doctor and ambulance from a very reputable hospital because we didn't want you to die Claudine. We were saving your life' Marjorie wrote.

Marjorie also brazenly asked their parents Miguel and Inday to tell the truth regarding that incident.

'Dad and Mom please don't deny the fact that the orders to rush her to a hospital came from both of you. We did not have a strait jacket that was a lie. Claudine we were protecting you, we didn't want you to die most especially in front of your children' said Marjorie.

In parting, she took a swipe at Claudine for claiming to 'love' her children 'when not too long ago you tried so hard to destroy them.'

'Claudine you never borrowed my children, you never even tried, or called them. I never deprived you of seeing my children. Never' she wrote.
