Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda is now engaged to girlfriend Neri Naig.

In a video titled “Chito's proposal to Neri” uploaded on YouTube on Wednesday, May 14, Chito took his girlfriend by surprise with a proposal that Neri had thought was a music video shoot.

'I came up with a story, with a scenario na kunwari may music video na isho-shoot for Typecast (a local band), ‘yung concept sa field lakad-lakad, it's a front kumbaga para hindi siya magtaka kasi gusto ko i-document ‘yung proposal eh,' Chito shared in the YouTube clip.

He added that he chose the concept so that Neri won't suspect about what would transpire that day. 'Ito ‘yung concept na naisip ko kasi kunwari music video hindi siya magtataka kung bakit may camera crew kung bakit may set-up, may something, so I came up with the concept na kunwari may lakad-lakad sa field at may makikita siya na projector,' he relayed.

In the video, as Neri marched towards the big projector, she was approached by Chito who proposed to her. “I love you very much, wala na akong sasabihin kundi I love you lang talaga, will you marry me?” Chito asked. “Yes,” Neri replied.

YouTube users extended their congratulations to the newly engaged couple.

“OMG, CHITO. CONGRATS. I cried watching this. You guys are both very blessed. God be with you both on this journey. And thank you for making us believe in love, that something like this still exists. Haha! Ako na ang fangirl! <3?,” Abbie Almasco commented.

Despite being embroiled in a scandal last year, Chito had always been vocal about his plans to marry Neri.
