Finally shedding light on what transpired between his intriguing New York sojourn with rumored flame KC Concepcion and their cryptic Instagram posts that followed thereafter, Paulo Avelino confirmed that they are not together.

However, he underscored that they remain friends. The actor revealed this during the recently-concluded pocket press conference of his upcoming Kapamilya soap Sana Bukas pa ang Kahapon opposite Movie Queen Bea Alonzo. Paulo will be taking on the role of Patrick, a sexy chocolate maker who happens to be one of the leading men of Bea.

“To be honest we had something special and we were special friends pero alam niyo ‘yung iba rin kasi… Siguro we tried to take it rin to the next level pero madaming [nangyari],” Paulo said. He continued, “Well first of all siguro ‘yung distance.”

The actress-host is currently in New York to study and to do some traveling.

Their distance, according to Paulo, has been a huge factor why their romance didn’t flourish. “Minsan kasi it looks so easy kapag malayo pero ‘pag kayo talaga it’s different and ‘yun lang talaga it’s the distance.”

Does he have regrets that their romance didn’t flourish? “‘Pag ganon kasi parang tinutuldukan na eh, I want to keep everything open eh. Ayoko talagang tapusin agad,” Paulo explained.

Despite the failed romance, he and KC still keep in touch. Moreover he claimed that, “Siguro kahit saan naman po never naman pwedeng tuldukan ‘yun.”

As of the moment, Paulo said that he is single and that, “Walang pain. Happy heart. Bilang fit naman ako ngayon happy naman talaga ang heart ko.” He also made it clear that he’s not very keen on getting into a new relationship any time soon.

“Ngayon gusto ko na lang magpahinga muna at mag-focus muna sa career ko. Napakarami ko ring ginagawa maliban dito. Pero this alone Sana Bukas pa ang Kahapon, pero this alone parang puno na,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Paulo also addressed the rumors that KC is pregnant with his child, an issue which began circulating after he came back from New York. 'I think it is not true. Hindi naman, hindi naman. It's not. Kumbaga nag-po-post naman sya ng kung anu-ano. She's been seeing a lot of Filipinos,' he told reporters.

Just last month, KC in an effort to explain her cryptic posts, bluntly said last month that she “loves” Paulo.
