As Atty. Francisco 'King' Rodrigo put it, their wedding held at the Archbishop's Palace as officiated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle last June 14, was a fruition of many things, such as their love and engagement. But of the many things that happened that memorable night, certain aspects of their wedding definitely stood out.
As Atty. The two had a seven-month engagement after being in a relationship for three months. Roa in an interview after the ceremonies shyly shared that it's actually her first time to get an engagement ring and experience a grand wedding since she just eloped with late husband Pete Roa in 1964. Her giant round-cut diamond ring sparkled on her hand as well as her studded gold wedding ring.

The MOWELFUND president glowed in her ecru gown by designer Eddie Baddeo as she alighted from the vintage Jaguar bridal car going at the reception venue with her new husband who wore a sleek barong. What further accentuated Roa's classic yet youthful ensemble was the pair of round-cut diamond earrings that matched her engagement ring which she wore while her hair was tied in a soft bun.

Apart from being an international lawyer and a former consul general of the Philippines in the US, not a lot of people know that Rodrigo is actually a very eloquent poet. This he was able to affirm on their wedding giveaway: a mini booklet of poems that he filled with heartfelt poetry glorifying his great love for Roa.

It's not every day that two people get the chance to find love again after losing one and this was what was essentially evoked by the simple and candid prenuptial photos of Roa and King which was shown halfway through their wedding reception for the guests to enjoy.

While many might think that a wedding of two older individuals won't see as much guests compared to the younger ones, Roa and Rodrigo's reception filled up the William J. Shaw Pavilion at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club with over 250 well-dressed guests.

Among the guests during that celebrated with the couple were TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, actors Gloria Romero, Caridad Sanchez, Barbara Perez, Pilita Corrales, Jose Mari Chan, Ricky Davao, Roa's radio program co-host Willie Nepomuceno, husband and wife Julius and Tintin Babao, and German Moreno.
Among the guests during that celebrated with the couple were TV5 Chairman Manny V. It was love the second time around for both after the passing of their respective partners. In fact, Rodrigo, even fondly called it a “dream come true” for him as he promised his new wife “a good life. Not only financially but of true love and caring.”

If anything, Rodrigo acknowledges the fact that their relationship has rekindled the hope of a lot of people--both the young and the old. He said, 'I would like to believe that our relationship gave emphasis to the sanctity of marriage. Madaming nagsasabi sa amin na, 'Sa edad niyong 'yan? MagMOMOL [Make Out Make Out Lang] na lang. Bakit magpapakasal pa, make out make out na lang!''
