A year ago, Jodi Sta. Maria decided to embrace a healthier lifestyle. In her Instagram post, the actress admitted that she used to have unhealthy habits but chose to let go of them. She shared the reason for doing so.
'I used to live an unhealthy lifestyle. I used to smoke. I drank alcohol. I ate food high in cholesterol. It was November 2014 when I finally decided I was going to go for a healthy lifestyle. I prayed to the Lord to help me get rid of cravings not good for me. I knew on my own it's not going to be possible but by the grace of God I was given a different perspective of my body. My eyes were opened to the truth that my body has already been bought at a price—it is no longer my own and that the Spirit of God now dwells in it,' she wrote on her Intagram account.

She added that she wants to be at her best health for her son Thirdy. 'What do we do when someone lends us something? We take good care of it right? We do not return the borrowed item dilapidated or in its worst condition. The same is true with our bodies. I am convinced that one way to honor God is by being good stewards of the things that belong to Him. I want to be healthy so that I will be available when God calls me to do a task for Him. I also want to be able to keep up with the demands of my growing boy. I want to be strong for work. I thank God for this perspective that He has given me. Gone are the days when I used to say ‘Ok lang. May gamot naman.’ Nobody wants to get sick even if the best available cure is out there. What we put in our mouths will take a toll on our health not now but later. Health is wealth,' she posted.
