After the passing of his wife due to cancer, Albert Martinez has now posted on his Instagram account a message to all those who have prayed for Liezl and his family.

'My family and I are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this, the most trying time in our lives. Your concern and prayers show us that my wife Liezl is well-loved and will be sorely missed. Thank you for honoring Liezl’s wish for privacy as she fought cancer in the last few months of her life. She remained strong, courageous and unwavering throughout the battle—which made me love her all the more. She was not just a celebrity or a public servant—for us, she was a supportive wife, devoted mother, loving daughter, caring cousin, a doting aunt ...We will miss all the wonderful things that she was in our lives,' Albert's caption on their family picture said.

He also emphasized that his wife will not be replaced in his heart.

'Although I lost her, she will forever remain a precious jewel, a gem that can never be replaced in my heart. Please continue praying for our family as we try to overcome our grief and loneliness in the coming days. A thousand white roses for you, my Liezl......'

Albert has remained silent to his mother-in-law Amalia Fuentes' complaints about not being given importance during Liezl's wake and being 'shut off' from her daughter's life.

Albert and Liezl's daughter Alyanna however, also posted on her Instagram account saying people shouldn't believe everything said about their family based on false rants from a single person.
