042215-myrtle_main.jpgExcited for the new season of Pinoy Big Brother, Teen Edition 4 winner Myrtle Sarrosa expressed how much her life has changed since winning the reality show in 2012. “Dati sa probinsya lang ako. I just lived in Iloilo tapos I was cosplaying in my own province but now, because of PBB, parang nagkaroon talaga ng 360, 180 degrees change sa buhay ko kasi Kuya not only taught me life lessons na I can used for the rest of my life but he also inspired me na dapat I should live my life not for myself alone but also for others,” she said.

That being said, Myrtle said that aspiring housemates should show their unique traits in order to be chosen.

Myrtle, who was from Iloilo, then recalled how she auditioned for PBB in Bacolod few years back. “From Iloilo, I rode a boat papunta sa Bacolod just to audition tapos ako, I lined up 11 PM the day before,” she said. However, she did not want to be first in line so she asked the other aspirants to go ahead first. She was the 20th person to audition.

She also recalled missing her Political Science finals exam that day just to audition. “I skipped my finals sa UP Iloilo, sumakay ako ng barko tapos pumunta talaga ako sa Bacolod para lang makapag-audition,” she said. She added that the reality show is not scripted. She said that even though there were housemates who had TV exposures prior to joining the show, everyone really went through auditions and screenings.

Known for cosplaying, Myrtle recalled wearing a costume when she auditioned. “Kasi nung time na yun, wala pang ganong nakakakilala sa cosplay so sabi ko, why don’t I audition na parang may parts of that, yung parts ng cosplay? Yung hobby ko of cosplay, i-incoporate ko sa suot ko nung time na nag-audition ako.” Myrtle wore red highlights in her hair and a dark Lolita skirt during that time. She thought that it could be one of the reasons why she stood out.

Now a student of the University of the Philippines Diliman, Myrtle said that it was Big Brother who inspired her to follow her passions. “Kasi dati, I was studying Accounting pero after PBB, Kuya made me realize na dapat we study and do the things that we love. Tapos narealize ko talaga na what I love to do the most is talking. That’s why I decided to take up Broadcast Communications instead sa UP Diliman,” she said, adding that she did not finish her degree in Accountancy.

After PBB, Myrtle said that she was lucky to be a host at Hero TV, an anime cable channel. Currently, she is working on a movie with Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano called, The Bet. has worked with the love team before during her stint in the primetime teleserye, Forevermore.
