Former Kapamilya host Donita Rose didn’t mince her words when she confessed that she and husband of 12 years, Eric Villarama, are currently facing a trial in their marriage.

“Alam niyo naman, in any marriage, there are times when you go through trials. And this is one of those times we’re going through some trials,” she said in an interview with Startalk recently.

While she’s grateful of the concern that her friends and loved ones have been showing her, Donita asked for understanding if she couldn’t express herself well to them at the moment.

“Medyo I’m taken aback with all the questions that people are asking. Because, right now, I’m in the middle of an issue with my husband. And parang hindi naman pelikula or teleserye yung buhay namin,” she said.

Then Donita added, “That’s a private matter na hindi ko alam kung bakit lumalabas ng ganito ngayon, at marami ang nagtatanong.”

The Fil-American actress tied the knot with Eric in Santa Barbara, California in 2003. They have one child, Joshua Paul Villarama.

Since the issue broke out, speculations abound that the two have broken up. However this was belied by Donita herself.

As for the supposed third party that caused the trouble in their marriage, she said, “I don’t know… I don’t know. Let me find out, and let me figure this out.”

Donita claims that she and her husband are still trying to communicate things about “what’s going to happen.”

As a mother, Donita, expressly asked for privacy about her current dilemma.

“I’m begging everyone, please… you know, I have a son. He doesn’t really know what’s going on right now. I’m just really worried about him,” she said.

In the end, Donita claimed that “I’m sure we will be able to overcome this and we will be okay.”
