'Sidlak Bisdak' duo JM Dela Cerna, Marielle Montellano to Launch debut EP 'JMielle In Love'

In an interview ahead of the launch, the duo shared their excitement about finally releasing an album they can call their own.

“We’re really excited po to share what we’ve prepared for so long. Excited din po kasi matagal-tagal na din po since the last time na nakasama namin ang mga JMielle’s,” said Marielle.

JM added, “Kinakabahan at the same time sobrang excited kasi hindi lang namin siya dream, matagal na dream na inaantay, especially ng JMielles. Sila talaga yung pinakaunang gustong mangyari ‘to.”

The EP features six tracks, though JM and Marielle have kept most of them under wraps.

They confirmed that their first recorded single “Pag ang Puso ang Nagsabi” will be included.

“We prepared 6 tracks po. It’s called JMielle In Love. Surprise na lang po ‘yung ibang songs, pero ang nareveal lang po namin at nakanta na namin ay ‘yung first single—Pag ang Puso ang Nagsabi,” Marielle shared.

Adding to the excitement, the duo revealed they were given a special song by Ogie Alcasid, written 22 years ago for Regine Velasquez-Alcasid titled “Magpakailanman” but never officially released.

“From Sir Ogie po, sinulat niya ‘yung song for Ms. Reg, pero hindi siya na-release. Nung nadiscover niya kami, sinubukan niyang ipakanta sa amin. At one of his concerts, sinabi niya na, ’Ibibigay ko na sa inyo ‘yung song,’” Marielle shared.

Since their victory in TNT Duets in 2023, fans have been shipping the duo for their undeniable chemistry. When asked about their real score, the two simply laughed keeping the mystery alive. “We’re happy! Sobrang happy po kami” Marielle shared.

After the EP drops, JMielle is set to bring their music to international fans. They’ll perform at the Kalayaan Norge Østfold Concert in Norway on June 28, a benefit show supporting schools in the Philippines. Another show is scheduled for November 8 in Vancouver, Canada.

“As far as I know po, ang proceeds mapupunta sa mga paaralan dito sa Pilipinas. Yung Filipino community po na nag-invite sa amin, ang goal talaga is to help schools here,” JM said.
