While things are getting better again for JM de Guzman, one thing that has suffered is his friendship with the Roco twins, Dominic and Felix.

Prior to his hiatus, JM had been very close to the twins. However, in a recent interview with PEP, Dominic revealed that things haven't been the same between them since the Kapamilya star's return to showbiz.

Past reports have tagged the Roco twins as the supposed 'bad influence' on JM. JM admitted last year that he got into rehab to obtain treatment for substance abuse.

Dominic explained that it was their conscious move to stay away from JM. 'Mostly because of the issues. Yeah, kami na rin ang lumayo,' he shared.

According to Dominic, “We thought it would be best if we wouldn’t be magkasama… Kasi, every time na magsama kami, nothing good comes out. Everyone thinks na we’re such a bad influence. And it’s not just with JM, it happened to me numerous times already,' he added.

Their personal decision to stay away from JM, Dominic said, cost their friendship. He admitted that JM tried to reach out to them, but they decided not to respond.

Is there any regret over the lost friendship?

'Siyempre, nanghinayang. Ever since naman, ang tagal-tagal kong sinasabi na I look up to JM, lalo na sa pag-arte niya,' he said.

He even stressed that JM played a huge part in his career moves.

“Sila JM naman talaga ang dahilan kung bakit ako nag-indie. Sila ang nagbukas ng pintuan sa akin. So, JM would be a big part of my life, mostly of my career,' he said.

Right now, Dominic and Felix have yet to meet JM again. According to Dominic, he doesn't really know what would happen once they cross paths again.

'I don’t know… ‘pag nagkita kami, where do we start? I don’t know eh. Hindi naman deadmahan but it won’t be like before, that’s for sure,' said Dominic.

While he's happy that JM has gotten back, Dominic admitted that he really got hurt by the “bad influence” tag.
