With the premiere of Just the Way You Are less than a week away, Enrique Gil admitted it's been a whirlwind time for him having to finish his successful soap Forevermore and then promoting his new movie. In fact, Quen said he had to help Liza Soberano adjust to their growing popularity in showbiz. “Nahihirapan din siya, nabibigla. There's one time na she was down, parang ‘di daw siya masaya. Pero it was not because of the work. Hindi siya sanay. Parang nabigla siya sa change of routine sa buhay niya. So parang I told her, 'Well ganun talaga. That's our job di ba?' I told her what I felt before kasi ganun ako dati eh. Iniisip ko bakit ang dami kong work pero parang I'm tired and hindi ako happy. Parang ganun. Minsan kasi sa sobrang overload ng work nawawala yung want mo to work because it's always there. So parang kahit isang day off lang yun siguro yung kailangan,” he said during their Just the Way You Are blogger's conference held last June 11 inside the Star Cinema office at ABS-CBN.

The 23-year-old actor said he wanted his love team partner to understand the sacrifices of being in the showbiz industry. “You know that's the price you pay eh. If you can just remember why you’re here na lang. So the more you work, the more people see you on TV. So the less time you have for yourself, the more time you have for the people. Dun ka mas makikilala,” he recalled telling her.

After working closely together for the past couple of months, Quen said he has discovered a lot of new things about Liza. “Kasi nung una kasi super tahimik, exactly like yung character niya (sa movie) tahimik, nandun lang sa isang sulok, emo. Hindi, joke lang (laughs) hindi naman. But when you get to know her, when she's comfortable with you na dun niya nalalabas yung real side niya which is totally different sa nakikita mo. Which in a way kinda like me. So yun yung na-discover ko madami kaming similarities na nakakagulat,” he added.

With the high ratings of Forevermore, Quen admitted shooting their scenes for the finale was very memorable and said he wishes they were able to shoot the original ending scene between Xander and Agnes. “With Agnes it's been a long journey from the start not knowing what was going to happen. Hanggang sa rollercoaster na mga nangyari sa story sa dulo hanggang sa last scene. Yung last scene na ginawa namin sa mountains, it wasn't the right ending that we wanted to have sa Forevermore. May isang scene pa na dapat pero hindi na umabot. So yung last scene sa mountain may karugtong pa dapat yun pero ginawa na namin pero wala ng oras so we made that the last scene, we changed the script. Pagdating namin dun biglang umulan ng sobra. Ano ba yan, last scene na namin 'to, late na late na hindi na aabot,” he shared.

Quen said he was surprised, but happy that director Cathy Garcia-Molina decided to trust him and Liza with the last scene. “So parang yung script hindi na namin mabasa kasi umuulan na so parang si direk Cathy, 'O sige na guys, kayo na yan. Alam niyo na yan.' Parang sa whole show parang gina-guide kami but she'll leave this last scene to us, yun na yun. Kayo na.' Yung last lines kami na bahala. So parang nabigla kami. Okay let's do this. In my mind sinabi ko lang na, 'Sa lahat ng nangyari, there are two people who are scared of loving, of being loved parang ganun. Because nga sa mga nangyari sa kanilang buhay but throughout everything nandun pa rin eh. Bakit? So it means may forever talaga kahit anong mangyari.' Parang gaunun,” he said.
Even when he mixed up their lines, Quen said Liza was a good co-actor. “Tapos may isang part pa dun na yung isang line na sasabihin niya, at that time kasi ang haba ng script tapos nakalimutan na namin. Tapos naalala ko lang yunug line na yun so ako na nagsabi nun. So inuna ko na tapos pinisil ko yung kamay niya tapos siya na yung nagdugtong nung forevermore. So yun yung talagang storya ng scene na yun (laughs). So lahat yun was on the spot!” he revealed.
