Aside from starring in the afternoon series All of Me, actor Arron Villaflor is also included in the cast of the movie Heneral Luna. He played the role of Joven Hernando, a young journalist who will later on narrate Antonio Luna’s life in the movie.
On taking the role of Joven, he admitted that the role was challenging.
“Very crucial ‘
yung part ko kasi parang
I’m an actor and narrator on this film,
mabigat so nasa eksena ako
at the same time
kine-kuwento ko ‘yung istorya parang ganun at ‘yung mg
a secrets of Luna and the rest of the gang
alam ko,
” he said in an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph.
He also added that for him, the most challenging scenes to perform were the ones with explosive effects.
“
Siguro ‘yung mga
explosion,” he laughed.
“
Dun ako na amaze kasi nakuha namin siya ng mg
a less than three takes lang
na hindi naman dapat kasi
it’s a big scene n
andun lahat sina
Paulo Avelino, sina Joem [Bascon] so
andaming
shots din at
yung isa dun yung
heartbreaking
siguro parang
when Luna tries to tell his upper officials
na
, ‘No we’re going to fight, I won’t let this happen na Americans will hold our country,’” he continued.
When asked about his preparations for the film, he revealed that he researched how journalists act so that the real-life journalists won’t be offended.
“Sobrang dami, mahirap
, actually
hindi naman mahirap
it’s more of
ano
challenging
siya
e
kasi
as an actor you have to research,
parang
how the writer works with the people ‘
di ba
, how to talk with them, how to negotiate with them
na hindi sila
ma o-offend,” he shared.
This film took one year to finish and they shot on location at historical places like Laguna and Ilocos.
“Nag shoot
kami sa
Laguna, sa Ilocos
, malalay
o. Very amazing
talaga kas
i we tried to get the real periodic settings of this film.
Kaya masaya din kasi napupuntahan namin yung iba-ibang lugar
,” he informed.
Arron has already proven his versatility in acting by portraying various roles in drama, comedy, and action, but he said that his dream role is to be “gusto k
o maging
Heath Ledger
sa
Batman. Y
un yung gusto ko
i-portray.”
He then thanked his fans and the supporters of the film.
“
Unang-una maraming salamat sa suporta nila habang ginagawa namin yung
film
marami nang nag me
-message s
a akin, nag
co-comment
sa akin na ‘uy
excited
na kami’ kas
i first ever film
ni
Luna to e,
sa bansa natin.
Actually sa buong mundo.”
Since he mentioned that this is the first movie about General Antonio Luna, Arron said he is grateful to be a part of this movie.
“Thankful and blessed
talaga kasi kasama ko dito mga
veteran actors
na
e tsaka award-winning actors tong mga ‘to kaya sa akin it’s a privilege to work with them. It’s an honor to work with them and at the same time it’s a pleasure for me to work with them
kasi
it’s a big movie
talaga,
it’s a big project
hindi siya yung
‘o indie film,
maliit lang yan’ pero napakalaking proyekto
,
Arron also sees this movie as informative not only for the moviegoers, but also for himself since he learned more about the Philippine history.
“
Importante siya sa atin kasi na
re-refresh ‘
yung utak natin kung ano nga ba ang kwento ni
Luna,
ano nga ba si Luna sa bansa natin kasi nung high school ako ang kilala ko lang
si Jose Riza
l. Kumbaga sakin
extra info din
tsaka nagpapasalama
t
ako dahil pinakilala nila sa
akin si Luna,” he ended.
