Joyce Bernal respects the decision of the MMFF about the non-inclusion of their film

Ayon sa director ng The Super Parental Guardians na si Binibining Joyce Bernal, hindi na niya ikinagulat ang naging desisyon ng MMFF Selection Committee sa hindi pagkakapili ng kanyang pelikula.

Aware po ako sa naging desisyon nila. Actually po, nakaramdam na po ako na most likely hindi kami matatanggap, nakaramdam na po ako no’n. Kasi change has come, binago nila yung submission, binago nila yung execom, iba yung… so parang meron silang pinaparating talaga, meron silang gustong sabihin, naramdam ko po yon,” pagtatapat ni Direk Joyce.

Bilang dating jury member si Direk Joyce ng MMFF, naiintindihan daw naman niya ang proseso ng pagpili ng entry.

“When I was one of the jury nu’ng MMFF, para ikwestyon ka, pinag-uusapan po yon, gini-gradedan namin yon. We deliberate on it even before the grading mismo. So, merong proseso talagang sinusunod.

“So sa lahat po ng jury, selection committee, nirerespeto ko po yon. Yung ginawa nila, trabaho lang. At kung anuman po yung gusto nilang gawin, irerespeto ko pa rin po yon this coming Metro Manila Film Festival,” paliwanag pa niya.

Willing pa rin naman daw silang sumali sa festival next year.

“Kung [gusto] pa rin nina Coco at Vice next year na gumawa ulit ng pelikulang pang-filmfest, lalaban po kami next year,” sambit ulit ng director.

Hindi rin sumama ang loob sa MMFF.

“Hindi po! Sabi ko nga po, nirerespeto ko sila,” diin pa niya.
