Crooner Erik Santos claimed that he only knew about his ex-girlfriend Rufa Mae Quinto’s recent engagement a couple of days ago.

The 33-year-old singer was teased by the press about the issue during the recently-concluded press conference of his upcoming concert Royals together with Angeline Quinto, Martin Nievera, and Regine Velasquez at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on February 13.

Erik said he is very happy for Rufa Mae, whom he still fondly calls as Peachy.

'I think it's time for her to get married. I know she loves her family so much. Grabe na 'yung serbisyong naibigay niya sa pamilya niya. So, this is the right time na sarili naman niya ang intindihin niya and she deserves that. She deserves to be happy,' Erik said.

The sexy comedienne made the announcement of her engagement to her non-showbiz Filipino-American boyfriend Trevor Magallanes on her Instagram account a couple of days ago.

'Sana lang alagaan talaga siya nung kung sino man ang mapapangasawa niya,' Erik added.

The two were together for a year and parted ways in 2007 due to what they described as “external pressure.”

Will he be open to sing on her wedding day?

'I'm more than willing to sing for her wedding. Iba naman ang pinagsamahan namin and we are still friends. Sobra akong masaya para sa kanya,' he said.

Erik happily shared that they were able to keep their friendship even though they broke up. In fact, he shared that they still communicate every now and then.

'Until now, we are really good friends kasi we try our best to be best of friends pa din,' he said.

But if he were to describe the type of love that he and the sexy comedienne shared, Erik would call it the “unforgettable love.”

'Unforgettable kasi madami kaming bagay na pinagsamahan and na feel ko din sa kanya 'yung through thick and thin nandiyan siya sa tabi ko nung mga panahon na 'yon,' he ended.
