Jodi Sta. Maria on her friendship with Ian Veneracion: ‘We talk about anything under the sun’

Maria admitted she likes the character she portrays. She said of Amor Powers, “very determined, she never stops <i>pero sa kabila ng kanyang</i> hard shell <i>napaka-soft ng</i> heart <i>niya.”</i> </div><div><br/></div><div>Jodi said that if there is a life lesson she’s learned from Amor, it would be,“<i>pagpapatawad</i>.” “<i>Mahirap mabuhay ng punong-puno ka ng galit </i>at resentment <i>sa puso mo</i>, it’s because it does something to you. It’s very destructive and the only way you can free yourself from that is to release the person who has hurt you or offended you. And <i>yun naman ang eksaktong ginawa ni Amor.</i> During the time<i> na sobra yung</i> unforgiveness <i>sa </i>heart <i>niya,</i> she was able to do things <i>na wala na sa pagkatao niya,</i> and then when she learned to let go of everything and forgive the people<i> na nakasakit sa kanya </i>she found peace.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Asked if a person should forgive, regardless if the person who did you wrong hasn’t asked for forgiveness or hasn’t paid/suffered for what he’s done, Jodi said, “we forgive people even if they don&#x27;t ask forgiveness from us because sometimes they will not do that. We just release them to the Lord and let God deal with them.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Jodi underscored, “that’s what we’re commanded to do, to forgive. We’re not <i>naman </i>doing that for the person e when we forgive, we are doing ourselves a favor.”</div><div><br/></div><div>Jodi has also developed a good working and personal relationship with actor Ian Veneracion, who plays Eduardo in Pangako Sa’Yo. “<i>Kami ni</i> Ian I’d say <i>na</i> we’ve grown close as friends<i> talaga. Hindi lang kami nagkukwentuhan </i>about work<i>, dumadating kami sa punto na</i> we talk about our personal lives, we talk about life, we talk about our dreams, we talk about anything under the sun.” </div><div><br/></div><div>Jodi added, “He is a good man.<i> Natutuwa ako sa kanya kasi malaking</i> fan, believer <i>siya</i> of kindness. <i>Napakaimportante sa kanya nun</i>.” </div><div><br/></div><div>Host Boy Abunda also commented on seeing Jodi and her ex-husband Pampi together with their son Thirdy in pictures. Asked how her relationship with Pampi is, Jodi shared, <i>“Mabuti po kami. Maayos po ang aming relasyon, masasabi ko na kahit papano na </i>we’re better than before and <i>sa palagay ko na pareho na rin talaga kaming nagmature bilang mga tao. Naniniwala po ako na yung pagiging maayos namin bilang magkaibigan, ano lang po talaga yun grace lang talaga yun ni Lord. Hindi something na ipinilit namin. Si God po talaga ang nag-restore nakakatuwa lang talag</i>a how God makes everything beautiful in his time.” </div><div><br/></div><div>When asked, “<i>Kumusta naman ang lagay ng puso mo?</i>” Jodi readily replied, “<i>maayos po</i>!” </div><div><br/></div><div>Jodi is going on a Holy Land tour next month and the month after that, she will go on Safari in Africa with her son Thirdy.</div><div><br/></div>
