There really is no stopping James Reid from being open about his feelings for his love-team-turned-girlfriend Nadine Lustre.

During their interview on OTWOL Achieved from Reel to Real, which aired on Sunday, James revealed that their fight that was caught on cam last November was a major turning point for him.

It may be recalled that at that time the two were seen seemingly arguing over Nadine’s white dress during the premiere night of the movie “Wang Fam.”

While Nadine claimed not expecting that they would fall for each other, she stressed that the aforementioned fight was a major turning point for them.

“It’s weird kasi I can remember when it started though. We had a fight before that, which was during the premiere night. We had a fight for a few days. Yes we didn’t talk at all. We were sweet on cam as Clark and Leah, but off cam, as in no talking,” she said.

James added that they did not speak for four days. “As in like there’s a wall. We didn’t talk at all even if we’re standing next to each other and we rehearse a line.”

Describing the four days of no talking as “terrible,” James shared that the said incident has put some things into perspective.

“I realized what it was like to not have her in my life. It was then at that moment that it started creeping up on me because I realized how much she meant to me. You know how they say ‘You don’t realize what you have until you lose it?’ I kind of got a taste of that. So then when we became friends again I appreciated her a lot more and I treasured her a lot more,” he stated.

The two were only able to patch things up when they went to Ilocos to shoot scenes for On The Wings of Love.

“Doon sa Ilocos parang never mind kinalimutan ko kung ano ‘yung nangyari. So wala na, binitawan ko na ‘yun. In Ilocos everything was fine, everything was okay,” shared Nadine.

As best friends, James revealed that Nadine was a big help in making him somewhat sort out his priorities.

“I went through a lot of stuff last year and I feel like that grounded me and helped me realize what I really want, what I need and it turns out that she was what I needed and she was always right there,” he said.

“I think I was blinded by a lot of things. It turns out what I really wanted was just someone I can be 100% myself with, who just understands me and makes my life easier,” he added.

But the two were honest enough to admit that they were not each other’s “type.” However the two had a change of heart.

“Now when I look at her, before to me, I wasn’t so attracted to her. But now, now that I’m in love with her, I think she’s so beautiful no matter what she does,” James said.

The Pambansang Hubby reiterated that even though he never really imagined being with Nadine ever before, knowing how comfortable he was with her, according to him, “made falling in love with her so easy.”

Nadine for her part also pointed out the fact that James presence in her life made a lot of her personal woes bearable.

“He’s always making me laugh tapos palaging magaan ang pakiramdam ko kapag kasama ko siya,” she said.

In the end, despite many criticisms, the decision to be public about their romance, James said, was something that had to be done because he does not want to continue denying how special they are for each other.

“It’s hard when you have this façade that you’re just a love team and there are so many factors and element to it that were so confusing. The only way that I measure it is about how much I loved her as the days went on. I can’t say it at this point we’re courting stage, at this point we became real. It was really gradual,” he shared.

Unlike James, the ever-private Nadine was initially hesitant to share about their romance to the public.

“Pero after niyang sabihin ‘yun, parang ako na-realize ko ‘Oo nga no, gusto ko nga ‘yung feeling’ kasi we don’t have to hide anymore,” she ended.
