Acclaimed director Francis Xavier Pasion dies inside his QC unit

The Philippine National Police’s Scene of the Crime Operatives (PNP SOCO) is still at the director’s unit to investigate the incident further.

Direk Francis is a cum laude graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Communications. In 2008, he earned the Balanghai trophy, Best Film and Best Editing for his film “Jay” in the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and also Best Feature Film at the Asian Hot Shots Berlin Film Festival for the same movie. 'Jay' also won in various film festivals in Mexico, Switzerland and Spain.

In 2014, his Cinemalaya entry film “Bwaya” won Best Film in the New Breed Category, Best in Cinematography and Best Original Score.

He also directed the teleseryes “Dyesebel,” “My Binondo Girl,” “Princess and I” and “Nathaniel.” His last project was the hit TV series “On the Wings of Love” which starred James Reid and Nadine Lustre.
