Award-winning Broadway performer Lea Salonga attended the Miscast Gala Night at the MCC Theatre in New York City last April 4 and she performed a song from
Miss Saigon
which she has not sung yet.
Lea gained worldwide attention when she portrayed Kim in the musical Miss Saigon, popularizing songs “Sun and Moon” and “I’d Give My Life For You” to name a few. During the gala, she sang the song “Why God Why”, a song written for the character of Chris, the soldier who fell in love with Kim.
According to the website of the Miscast Gala at the MCC Theatre, the said event is “one of the most exciting and unique theater events in town. Broadway’s hottest stars perform songs from roles in which they would NEVER be cast.”
Theater Mania uploaded a video of Lea’s performance.
