WATCH: Jaclyn Jose's acceptance speech at the Cannes

A very surprised Jaclyn Jose went up the stage at the closing of the Cannes Film Festival when her name was called as the winner of the Best Actress Award for the film Ma 'Rosa.

The actress went up against very stiff competition including Oscar winners Marion Cotillard and Charlize Theron.

'I don’t know what to say. I am so surprised. I just went to the red carpet walk with my daughter, my real life daughter and daughter in the movie also. Thank you to Cannes, thank you to the jury, thank you to the director of the film, Mr. Brillante Mendoza, I was just following what he is saying and telling me to do. Thanks to Brillante he is such a brilliant director, a genius in the Philippines and here in your country,' Jaclyn said nervously and even asked her daughter Andi Eigenmann for help.

She also shared her award to her fellow Filipinos, specially to those who were also present in Cannes.
