Kapamilya actress Denise Laurel admitted feeling overwhelmed by so many factors to consider in planning a wedding so she and basketball player fiancé Sol Mercado have decided to postpone the event for now.
“I don’t think it’s an issue naman. I think it’s always timing and it’s no joke to have a wedding (nowadays). I guess na-overwhelm lang ako na you know, putting two schedules together and the budget of putting a wedding together. I had no idea na parang 4 million na yata or something like that or 3 million… You know, hindi naman kasi ako bongga na tao so I wanted a simple wedding lang. I didn’t even know that a simple wedding would cost like 2.5 (million). I’m sure it’s nothing for Sol but I’m thinking kasi not just the wedding. I’m thinking about life. My son’s getting bigger, we want to have more kids one day. Gusto ko lang maging wais. I want to plan it properly and of course, if you invite one person, you’re going to want to invite everyone,” Denise, who is the host of the new Lifestyle Channel show Modern Girls, began.

Saying that she’s already “getting there,” Denise also cited factors like Sol’s PBA schedule and getting their relatives from the United States to attend the wedding. “So it’s not really an issue. It’s more like kailangan ko ng help from God. Kailangan ko ng powers.”

“We respect each other even if we’re different. ‘Yung pagmamahal namin sa Diyos, hindi hinahati. Actually, that’s one of the reasons why we fell in love in the first place is because of how much we love God. Nakakatuwa kasi we don’t allow religion to separate us or segregate us, we embrace it pa nga eh,” she said.
